Rickie Collins

I feel bad for Rickie. To have your whole life dreams culminate this way is terrible

Really? Good lord. The dude is 20 friggin years old and probably was told his 'whole life' how great he was, and pampered along the way to boot. Got a boat load of coin to come to SU and now at the ripe old age of 20, his "life dreams" got smacked by that thing called...life. Hope he finds his way some day.

Empathy is endearing, even if it is expressed towards someone who has experienced good fortune and advantages.

Yeah I do. I want our guys to succeed. Some of you guys are pretty freaking miserable. You don’t know anything about his background, his upbringing etc. it’s hard to watch a guy not fulfill his promise and if you don’t think it chews these kids up well I don’t know what to tell you. But I guess you have the right to be a basement keyboard warrior

Fran isn't the guy? Or Rickie?

I think we're going to find out on Fran.

When things get hard is when you really find out the the depth of someone's skills and capabilities. I think it's fair to say that since Angeli went down, we've seen enough at this point to determine that Collins is not a viable alternative. We've also seen the coaches have stumbled out of the gate trying square-peg, round-hole him into a viable option and it's been futile. I get that they paid him decent NIL and football coaches can be stubborn some times, but it's time.

As Ricky won't be here next year, it's time for Carney. We won't burn Luke's redshirt to go back to the bench, shirley??

I suspect we'll see some mix of both QB's again in the next game or 2, as the coaches try to bed a true frosh QB in slowly without destroying his confidence. But hopefully the baton will be fully passed to Luke by the Miami game. He should unquestionably be getting the #1 QB reps in practice and get the playbook altered for his skill set.

Like it or not, this year is likely a write-off at this point, barring some small miracles. Let's build Carney up, particularly if he WILL be here next year (Angeli at #1 or not.)

These next couple weeks will be telling on how Fran & co handle this.

I'm sure some people here like to see these kids fail now, under the guise of "they're making money now so I can treat them like trash".

Rickie's not good enough but seems personal for some.
Who wants to see him fail... Dumbest take ever. We all wanted him to succeed when Angeli went down, unfortunately it's been awful.

That isn't what he's saying.
He literally says some people like to see the players fail to trash them. It's a dumb take. Everyone would be loving Rickie if he was killing it. Everyones frustrated, no one prefers watching failure, it's frustration over terrible play. It's a results business, everyone's favorite players are the ones who made SU a success, no ones actively rooting against success. At this point Rickie is the biggest culprit holding the team back, no one's rooting for failure, it's literally a brain rot take.

Indeed. Simply the ‘usual suspects’ doing the usual.

Just watched the game. I don't like to see any of our guys fail even the ones who transfer.
I certainly hope I am wrong but Collins is a real mystery. Its one thing to stare down your first receiver its another thing to be way off target when he is open. The out pass interception was shockingly bad. Not pressured wide open receiver and the ball was several yards behind the target.

This doesn't seem like a young QB who needs the game to slow down to him. Seems like much more. Very depressing.

I don't envy Fran and I won't second guess him. He may be in a no win position.

Coordinators don't forget how to game plan and how to call plays - not when they are as good as Nixon. But when you have little to work with this is the result.

The freshmen are big and talented Agnelli is the real deal. The future is bright. Just have to be patient.

I feel as though we have said the future is bright for the last 20 years

But now that he's not killing it, people ARE getting personal on the players. I can understand boos in the Dome out of frustration. But people saying that he gets paid now so I can say what I want about him is a bit sad.

I'm sure he feels bad enough letting his team down, before having to go on social media and see the hate.
