It’s fine, I don’t have the answers either. It’s tough because we have a great system, we’ve seen it work with 2 qbs. I’m not sure if we have an operator in the room to run it right now. Do you try a new operator or adjust it to suit Collins. Is the adjustment a turn off for our players professional prospects or future recruits? You need to think week to week, but someone in the room has to be thinking long term when evaluating and making these decisions.

What was tough about the spot?

Over a year in the system.
Had 1st team reps before Angeli came
No other starters really injured
Had in game reps versus Clemson last game
At home
Duke defense is terrible

That is like set up perfectly for a first game start.

Either bring in the other kids and let them equally suck or hopefully be better, or if you’re gonna stick with Collins switch more of an option Based offense And go back to the future. Otherwise, we might not win one more game.

We are getting an education into just how important the position is, as if we didn’t know, just like with Castellanos at FSU with the successes he is having but could not bc with lesser talented players around him

I mean he's definitely a one read guy based on this game. But if that's the case, I'd be expecting Jeff Nixon to gameplan a little more for that.

We looked good first two drives when we were scripted. Rickie needs to sense pressure better (on the INT), and the Johntay call really swung the game. I still don't understand how that was overruled.

If you are going to lose and have problems scoring go with the Freshman and let him take his lumps. This is 3 games that Collins has looked bad in . That's more then enough opportunity. If Fran follows his DART policy he needs to play Carney and at least give the team an opportunity to win.

It’s one game. I’m annoyed as anyone but still one game. I was furious after Pitt last year and then it’s gone. Learn a lot about teams by how they rally.

under Fran, we've outscored teams. Last year we scored over 30 points in every win but one. We only held 2 teams to under 20 points and one of them was Holy Cross. Our defense is consistently bad and occasionally ok. I don't believe Collins is capable of running a 30 plus point offense.

Collins is awful. He’s getting paid so I have no problem calling that out. Sadly he’s likely better than every other QB on the roster. It’s very clear why Fran brought in Angeli.

One of the things that bothered me the most was his fumble. Not only did he make the boneheaded play to fumble the ball but his instincts to get the ball back was dreadful. After an "oh no" moment, he prances around the guy in his way, has a direct line to the ball, and instead of diving for it with both hands, gets caught in a weird moment where I think he was just trying to scoop it up, ends up falling down while trying badly to scoop it with one hand and fails very miserably. He should've gotten the ball back, but instead he had no chance of getting it due to how he went after it. I know those things happen fast, but he showed very bad instincts, decision making, coordination, and determination all in one play. You can have all the talent in the world, but you also have to be a competitive football player, too.

Neither do I. We were clearly counting on a higher powered offense. Need to to switch things up. Staff has shown a willingness to adjust in the past. We will see what happens next week. They’ve yet to lose two in a row. They tend to rally under Fran.
