Looked eerily similar to Gadsden. Rodgers has an achilles injury.

will watch the replay tonight, but from where I sat was not thinking that but more high ankle deal. Rare for young players to get that injury, as there’s almost always a “calf issue” achilles tendonitis history prior like reported with Rogers (not the case worn OG as it’s the other ankle from The one it was reported he was having issues with), but yeah ya never know.

It looked to me like Gadsen immediately grab his ankle when he went down. Hoping it’s not an achilles tear.

Achilles Tear: Projected Timeline To Recover

The Achilles (uh-KILL-ease) tendon is a band of tissue in the back of your leg. This tendon links your heel bone (calcaneus, pronounced cal-KAY-nee-us) to your calf muscles. It's also called the calcaneal tendon.

It has been estimated that 30-40% of NFL players to suffer an Achilles tear never return to the professional level of competition. That said, modern medicine is always developing. The average length of recovery is in the 10-12 month range, though we did see Cam Akers make it back in just six short months back in 2021.

It is worth noting, however, that Akers returned for a Super Bowl run and wasn’t explosive (72 carries for 175 yards, with none of those carries gaining more than 15 yards).

If Rodgers, (39), returns I will be surprised. If you watched the replays there was one slo - mo that showed the achilles detaching and running up to his calf. You could see the tendon roll up to his calf clearly beneath his sock. Owie big time.

However, Aaron is a finisher and a winner I'm guessing he will go thru the painful and time consuming rehab process and return to the Jets.

If Reddit posters are to be believed then Achilles injuries are not nearly as painful as a high ankle sprain. That would explain why this massive injury allowed Rogers to walk off the field seemingly without mich pain. OG looked like he was in some pain. A boot would be used in either scenario I believe. So I’m still hopeful it’s a high ankle sprain for OG

NFLPA needs to take a stance on turf during the next negotiations.

I’ve torn both my Achilles ten years apart playing hoops.

Not painful.

I can now jump about three inches in the air max.

Should all be grass fields. They’ll go grass for the World Cup in 2026 but won’t go grass for the biggest sport in America that plays on those fields every Thursday, Sunday, and Monday? Ridiculous. Players have been complaining specifically about Metlife for years and as a Giants fan I’ve seen it all first hand. Hope the players make a hard stand this time around because something really does have to change.

Ankle sprains are some of the most painful injuries, believe it or not.

I am pretty sure Met Life installed new turf from a different company for this season.

Tore my Achilles years back on A Saturday playing paddle tennis. You can hear the bang as it snaps, but there was really not much pain. Foot was a bit floppy, but drove home and went to a party that night. Finally saw an Orthopedist on the Monday, who offered two choices, Have the operation to repair it, or believe it or not, there was a current British thought to do nothing at all. The thinking was the foot would adjust over time, although my doctor cautioned there might be a weakness and, in some cases the floppiness would persist. I obviously had the operation (Some pain after that) and went from a cast to a boot and rehab wearing a sneaker with a built up heel. Recovery time is different for everybody. My son-in law tore his and we both had a ten week recovery. Others take longer. In my case, and from what others have shared, the injury occurs as you step or run forward and stretch the Achilles. From what I saw Saturday, Gasden rolled the ankle and hopefully it's only a high sprain.

Miss the days when we had insiders who could tell us the scoop on injuries. Kcsu needs to hop on another flight with the SU players and get us the real story.

They did, it supposed to be a “hybrid” from what I understand. Wish they just pulled the plug on it and went with grass.

Ten week or ten month? I play platform tennis as well and a buddy of mine did the same thing. Big pop and down he went. Long recovery and rehab.

Pretty sure OG had an ankle injury. Didn't look like a good one. I'm guessing he could be out 6-8 weeks.

New turf or not, in addition to the porous offensive line, the turf played a role. His foot plants and gets stuck. It doesn't give under his weight and the tension like a natural surface would. This should have been something they fought for in the CBA, but they wanted to smoke reefer instead.

Why not both?

This is a hybrid. This is a cross of Bluegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensemilia. The amazing stuff about this is, that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt that night on this stuff.

Based off the black pebbles flying around last night I think you are correct.

I think Met Life's decision is impacted by the concerts they hold.
It's simply a matter of will. It can be done.
