Many Pros and Cons tonight for Cuse against Wake especially in a physical tight road game...
Pros
- Starting with the PG after an 0-6 first half responding with a 16 pt second half and proving he could continue to star even in a hostile environment like WF.
- As a team we had a +20 rebounding margin which has been a huge concern over the years and last couple game... included 19 Offensive boards and 7 contributed by Jerami.
- 20 unbelievable minutes off the bench by Baye Moussa Keita including 6 pts 8 boards and 6 blocks and just great play overall.
- Trevor Cooney continuing to make us proud in the last 3 minutes of games.
- Guards for the Cuse shot 10-11 from the line tonight mostly down the stretch.
- Starting aggressively playing defense again and forcing turnovers. Everyone looked great tonight defensively including Gbinije in his limited minutes off the bench
Cons
- Foul trouble from Syracuse bigs (9 between Rak and Baye)
- Limited depth shown again
- League play long shooting slump continues for Trevor Cooney.
- Outside shooting very limited without Trevor hitting.
- Only forcing 8 Wake Forest turnovers.
- Another poor shooting night for C.J even though he is consistently getting good looks.
- Terrible FT shooting as a team, especially from Grant and CJ.
- Tyler Ennis' beloved ankle (Mother of Syracuse Pray for Us)
Overall I am pretty confident going into Cuse if we could hit from the outside. Duke should have trouble with the zone. Should be a great one though and we could finally look forward to it with this WF scare behind us. Lets get it boys. Go Cuse!!!
