Ron Morris gets Poll Attacked

He watched Uconn play last year, decided they belonged in the top ten this year and nothing can change Ron's mind, nothing.

A monkey would provide us with a better ballot than his, the guy just doesnt understand basketball simple as that...

So has this guy entered John Thompson, Keith Smart or Jim Calhoun territory yet?

He has Indiana at #16 when they JUST BEAT Michigan? Wisconsin still ranked and that high?? Florida at 11 and Louisville at 10? This guy is a clown. It's clear he made his ballot and he refuses to change it regardless of on the court results.

The worst five voters should be dropped every week, if you can't compete and are voted into the worst five, out you go and five new voters should be added.. Writers need a reason to continue to be a voter.

like the english premier league... I like it

Man, I hope my pole never gets attacked.

Wait, poll?

I've said too much.

He has stated that he bases his ratings on reading a magazine at the beginning of the year and sees the personnel each team has ... not that they win or lose. In his pea brain he sees UConn, for example, with so-called great personnel ... it doesn't matter whether they lose. He sees Indiana with not so great personnel... they never have a chance of moving up. Same with SU ... as he says we would have to run the table before he considered us #1 and better than OSU, Kentucky, and North Carolina. The guys a hack.

Just another asshat who likes the attention.
He presses a few buttons, tries hard to be "controversial" & viola- all of the interwebs are a flutter!
Lame.

Morris has said what many are aware of, the polls don't mean a damn thing.

However if part of your job involves voting in it, you should probably a) try to put more than 2 minutes worth of effort into it, and b) not be so forthcoming that it doesn't mean anything.

One of the biggest problems with a clown like him is he proves his ignorance about basketball. A perfect example would have been syracuse 1986-1987 at the beginning of the season we had lost Pearl,Raf, and Alexis, back then mcdonalds all-america's were les then 10 years in. The only 2 potential great players at beginning of year were DC and Stevie. Morris never would have ranked them on his criteria in the top ten but we now know how good they actually were. So obviously his criteria doesn't work and he should be removed from voting.

Or the 2009-2010 that was losing flynn, devo and harris that turned out to be the best team in the country for most of the season.

And ESPN did a piece on how none of the major players were heavily recruited

The author of the article is as much of a putz as Morris.

Morris loves Florida so much that at 12-4 they're still up at 11, but thinks so little of Syracuse (who beat them) that they're an undefeated #4.

Okay then...

Well, if nothing else, he sure is getting his 15 minutes of fame...and then some.

I think that college sports should be done this way, I think its a brilliant system. Every year, the bottom 5 or so Division 1 teams drops to Division 2. The top 5 Division 2 teams get bumped to D1. Same with D2/D3 and so forth.

It's a fair, common sense approach that would do a lot of good for programs that are otherwise used as stepping stones for good coaches. Being locked in at Division 2/3 is an insurmountable handicap for athletic programs, no matter how good they are.

But I digress...
