Schedule Tidbits

We shouldn't get used to it.
Chris Mullin is serious about making SJU the city team again.
So that means we'll have to "settle" for 50-50 soon!
With Mullin this year, I'd expect the older Johnnie fans to be excited, especially in December. A 50/50 split wouldn't be surprising.

So that is a huge drop on our schedule. I guess Nova will rotate off for 2 years. Only 5 TBA.

Georgetown-N Verizon Center
St. John's-N MSG
Big Ten team-H
Cornell-H
Colgate-H
Battle4Atlantis- 3 of UConn, Michigan, Charlotte, Texas, Texas A&M, Gonzaga, Washington
5 more Guarantee home games
ACC
Home/Road: Boston College, Pittsburgh, Florida State, North Carolina
Home: Georgia Tech, Clemson, NC State, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame
Road: Miami, Duke, Wake Forest, Virginia, Louisville

GTown will be tough. The B10 and SJU won't be gimmes. I expect to get UConn in the B4A and probably have to face a Gonzaga, Texas, A&M and/or Michigan at some point in that tourney. @Pitt, @UNC, @FSU, @Miami, @Duke, @UVA, @L'ville is a BRUTAL ROAD SCHED in conference. Absolutely brutal.

I hate to be pessimistic, especially in freakin' April, but with what we have returning and the questions surrounding the frosh class and Coleman, I find it really hard to believe we'll improve on last year's disappointing season. There are land mines everywhere on that schedule and even a very good team would have their issues. I'm not in the boat of thinking this is a very good team, so my expectations are going to be very limited come November. Hope I'm wrong, but that's a tough, tough schedule.

We could try something novel. Get heavily tested during the regular season and peak in the NCAA tournament. That schedule may keep us from getting a one or two seed, but no reason it can't prepare us to play well and win some games in March.

Gtown loses pretty much all their scoring expect Smith-Rivera, B-10 will be at home which is a plus, SJU will be in transition and it will be at MSG. B4A is a complete tossup.

Our ACC schedule will be tough for sure, but we should be better as a team by then and tested. We will be a tourney team next year no need for negativity yet.

MSG is in NY State, and the current VP is a SU alum, ergo...Home games.

All Orange basketball games are home games. There was a flowchart a while back proving it.

P.S. What the is a hoya?

That is a very poor home schedule. Good year to hit the road for some games.
Pitt, ND, UNC and a B1G opponent is not bad for a "down" year.

But, yes, if you can do the travel, there are some dynamite road games on the ledger.
