Scoooop...

Who was bashing Scoop!

Name names!!!

Scoop's line tonight:
13 pts, 6 assts, 2 reb, 0 TO, 5/9 FG, 2/4 3pt.
He's been tremendous the last 4 games.

Scoop is like a box of chocolates you never know what youre going to get. Tonight he was the man. Scooooooooooop.

Nahh...Scoop has been awesome for quite some time. Possibly our MVP for all the little things he does for this team.

He's been in the zone ... especially tonight. Cincy tried playing super aggressive tight D on him and he blew by 'em at will.

3 of Scoops last 4 games have been great and the other one everyone around him shot a combined 25%.
Scoop is Awesome.

OK, name 1 person on the team that is more consistant then Scoop, please.

Antonio Jardine is the heart and soul of this Syracuse Basketball Team. He is the leader both on and off the floor. He is the most vocal during the games. He demonstrates the most courage in a wide variety of areas. He is not afraid to take the big shot and is willing to be the goat if he doesn't make it. He bears responsibility for the manner in which he plays and for the team as a whole. He has adjusted his game to be selfless for the betterment of the entire team. When Scoop is on his game... chances are we don't get beat.

I started shouting "Scoop eats at Big Kahuna Burger!!!!" at my TV screen after he nailed that huge 3.

Agreed. Scoop has been playing very very very well. Still makes me want to throw a shoe at the TV because he can't make a FT.

Still don't get how he could steadily go from 80+% his freshman year to around 50% this year.

That first one he shot tonight was just sad - barely hit rim. Half of his misses aren't even close to going in.

He's definitely got the "yips" from the FT line. For all of those golfers out there, you know what I'm talking about.

I've been yip free for almost 5 years but thanks for bringing up the past demons...

Considering it's January, you have at least 3 months of hibernation to forget we ever had this conversation.

Geez, that one for eight down the stretch, including at least 2 front ends of one-and-ones, is what kept this from being a 15 point win.

Free throws can definitely be mental, and I wouldn't be surprised if that's what's happening here.

From a personal perspective, I went through the same thing my senior year in HS. I was always around 80%, but there was a stretch where I missed a few in practice, thought too much about it and got in my own head, and just couldn't make a free throw to save my life in practice or otherwise. It's an extremely mental thing. That has GOT to play at least a factor for Scoop, there's simply no other explanation I can see.

Until my round on the Black come April anyways...

Yup sure do. Blowing a 3 foot putt 3 feet by.

I'd be very interested in hearing how you got rid of them. Thx.

I'm talking putts from five feet and in. Shorten the backstroke a tad and extend the follow through a tad. it forces you to actually follow through and hit a solid putt and not decel.

95% of yips are caused by deceleration.
