Second hand practice observations from yesterday

Agree with Bees.
Triche could be a college stud.

He has a shot at the NBA, I agree its a long one but hes not cursed like Paul Harris. He has 2 set positions he can blossom into.

His defense also needs to get better. I don't think he was built to pressure the ball last year.

I think MCW will be our best guard to apply ball pressure this year. And I am going out on a limb he is going to get some extra minutes for it when we need the height for defense like up 8 with 2 1/2 minutes to go. I haven't seen much. Dion Scoop and Triche were lost pressuring the ball on defense last year and thats why we got lit up quite a few times. Anyone else think MCW could be that guy?

BT impressed me the most from MM, but that includes the 3 point contest, where he smoked JS and Mookie, plus he was just so physically impressive during it that I cam away thinking that he may have a breakout year.

I was surprised at how much thinner he looked. I know Melo had to lose weight, and he did. I know Dion had to lose weight, and he did. But Brandon was pretty much all muscle. Was hard to see where he could lose much but he is thinner all through. I am sure it'll make him quicker but I hope he didn't lose any strength.

I think a lot of people here would refer to Ricky Jackson as a "stud" at the collegiate level, yet he never came close to making the NBA, really.

Brandon would be a stud if he played PG. I think he'd be at LEAST as good as Red Autry (one of my all-time favorites, and someone who I don't think got a fair shake at the NBA mainly because of his knees).

And I really do think Red is the best comparison for Brandon, at least as long as I've been watching Syracuse.

Agree but I don't think at this point strength is helping get to the big leagues he needs speed, scrappiness, defense and either better shooting or to play some point.

No NBA team wants a slower guard who is a average shooter and not very good at pressuring the ball.

Time to bring the old brandon that was a top 10 mcdonalds all american back. Time for him to step out of his comfort zone if he has to.

Interesting that Jay Bilas said last year and this year that BT is the best player on the team.
Not many put all their stock into what Jay Bilas happens to fart on any given day. Personally I like Triiche except when he goes Harry Potter and puts on the vanishing cloak during games.

I'm in the Brandon camp as far as potential. I think he has shown, against very good competition, that he can score a bundle of points on occasion. I'll be the first to admit that I thought he'd be good right off the bat. Hasn't happened.

His game at the college level has developed a lot slower than I expected. I still hold out hope that he'll break out and be the player that I thought he'd be when we signed him.

Well since he loves syracuse its hard for cuse fans not to like him. hes good but that doesnt mean hes always right.
My feeling for Bilas has little to do with him liking the Cuse. It has much more to do with his logical thought process, intelligence and basketball experience. I mean, who would you rather believe? Cowturd, Jim Rome, Dickie V., Mr. Notre Dame, etc.

here here, and he adds humor

a kid could be 1st team all league and maybe even AA and not be a lottery pick. this is a senseless discussion.
Scottie Reynolds. Kid was a great college player, a stud. Nuff said

Thanks for the information, RF.

Have only one criticism: you let work interfere with your basketball reporting!!?? That could be called heresy by some here! ;)

Agreed. Bilas shoots straight, and doesn't have even an iota of bias. He calls people out on their BS, and I really appreciate that.
