(Semi OT) Where'd you get your username?

I remember that UCF fan and recall you had some legendary smack downs with him.

His handle just resurfaced in my brain.

My name is Phil and I was working third shift at the time I originally discovered the forums. It was late one night(or early in the morning, depending on your perspective) and everyone was joking around about how tired we were. Someone told me that yeah I can tell your tired, your moving like a ball of fire, and the nickname fireballPhil was born.

I opened a fortune cookie and Yogurt told me that I am a certified King.

I was OttoCuse on Rivals and then it was taken on Scout so I had to think of something else. I liked having Otto as I think he is a ridiculous mascot. My friend from college always said to say your name is the III as it sounds cooler even if you are not. So I had Otto III and thought it sounded royal and added the King.

Should have capitalized the I's...

My initials, and then two numbers associated with former SU players.

The #20 represents my all-time favorite, Sherman Douglas. The #44 is for Derrick Coleman, and for how important the number is historically to SU.

Mine comes from the Anthony Burgess book of the same name. Loved the book, so I used it as a nickname back in '99 when I was a senior in college. I think cto helped start this board because those of us posting on the syracuse.com board needed a good board to call home since that one stunk so badly. I believe UConn fans helped out in part because we pretty much took over their board in the lead up to the smack down against them in '99 when the team started out.

I've kept Clockwork Orange as my name since then -- 13 years ago. Wow.

Maybe it's time, for some of the newer members, for someone who has been there from the beginning to summarize the history of the various boards there have been for SU fans and who was part of the original core group That and the bio post that was done some time ago and this one could be pinned or archived somewhere.
I meant charter member of the Manley Zoo, but I like your idea anyway.

I could tell you but I'd have to kill you...

OK, if you agree to kill yourself after you read this...

It's my initials and the year I graduated from SU. If I had to do it over again, I'd use "LGO" instead of SWC because I invented that abbreviation for the chat room. But, as with stuckinbig11 and others, once you have an identity, you don't like to mess with it.

LGO! :)

I always thought you were some dude from the South West Conference (Texas perhaps?), but your astute posts over the years have convinced me otherwise. Glad to meet'cha.-VBOF

I've had a number of small businesses over time. One of my businesses was Shenandoah Exonumia (I live in the Shenandoah Valley & Exonumia is the name for things that look like coins but don't have monetary value). I had a website where I sold historic tokens, medals, and 19th century political memorabilia, i.e. shenexon.com, as a short version of my business name.

As I needed usernames for various websites I used Shenexon because it was always available and simplified the things I needed to remember. In short, all of the good names were taken.

It's good to be the King! ;)

this is long but....post john wallace and the NC game, but pre-mcnabb graduating i used to lurk and sometimes post as KJ44 using a work given laptop . in late 90s changed jobs, lost the laptop, board switched sites and/or forgot password, was asked to create a user name...so went with UpperEastOrange, basically my NYC hood and Orange is obvious. the group was small and conversation was great, often quite funny and always positive in a good way...then we got big. idiots started trolling and posting stupid shlit, i decided that i had enough and started calling people out on it. a lot of people got it and laughed, a lot of people didnt get it and cried...so i often got banned. and by often i mean daily, sometimes hourly. the Syracuse admins (jake, cto and bees) usually blamed fishy or temery for the ban, but im sure bees took great enjoyment with it. i found myself in the penalty box with tristan more times than i care to remember and during longer bannings he got creative. he was reincarnating himself, but not hiding who he was. this was so unlike the other trolls who used to respond to their own posts with different handles, sort of a 'i dont care if you know its me, im back' attitude. tristan became tristy, stan, caesarstan etc. so i started coming back as UEOrange, UEO, TheUEO, and then KeyserUEO (Usual Suspects) which i liked, so after that ban i came back as KaiserUEO.

and the rest is history.

Had the same handle since Gore invented the internet and I needed an AOL address. Simply, my initials and the nickname of the school I coached at then.

Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2

I've always looked at your handle and thought "Real Bees".

I do mourn for the Southwest Conference. The Big East should be reconsistued as a northeastern football conferecne, (Army, Navy, BC, UCONN, Rutgers, Temple, Syracuse, Penn State, Pittsburgh and West Virginia: throw in Cincinnati, Louisville to get it to 12). Restore the ACC to a conference from Maryland to Miami, (South Carolina should be there), put the SEC and Big 10 back to 10 teams. Re-create the Big 8 and the SWC . Reunite the Mountain West and WAC. Put the Pac 12 back to 10 teams. Stick Notre Dame and BYU in one of those conferences. Now you've got 8 conferences with every school capable of contending for the national title in them. Have the champions play off in December with the title game in a bowl game. Keep the bowl system but trim it down to maybe a dozen games with an 8 win minimum. You're all set. :D

With the closing of Manley Field House , JTII, michael grahm and of course ewing, I developed an extreme dislike of georgetown - so much that I decided that I would share it with people. But, since the State of New York wouldnt put Piss on the Fu**king Hoyas on a license plate I decided to go with No Hoyas.
Kinda figured that would work on this site as well. By the way its 11:30...AND GEORGETOWN STILL SUCKS!!

Dutch from my alma mater, Union College (The Dutchmen) and Hart for one of my favorite players to grace the hill (not Nolan, Jason).

DSR are my initials, the y is included to indicate my syracuse fanhood, and I heard 44 is relevant to Syracuse tradition or something. Added the zero because, well I guess when I made this as my AIM screen name years ago I had some reason.

So in 1996 I lived at 131 Standart St. and one night after returning from watching the basketball team I went to head out to Kimmel to do some computer work and after rinning across the street and I almost get hit by a black pathfinder coming out of the bottom of Lawrinson with one Donovan McNabb driving and his illinois vanity plate was DNABB5

and you are sure that was mcnabb?

Spend a lot of time in Europe for work and in particular Italy. Had just returned from a trip where I picked up a bottle of orangecello liquor at the duty free at Malpensa airport when I joined the old board. Shortened it up and presto.

I just went with the fake pornstar name generator -- the name of my first pet followed by my mother's maiden name.
