Sounds to me like we've been Dre's choice from the beginning, but given his elite athleticism, he went through the summer keeping his options open a bit for bigger / elite / blue chip offers.

When those didn't come his way, he's ready to announce. Is that mis-characterizing it in any way?

Some kids like the process and attention of recruiting. He got to go to UCLA. I’m sure we didn’t pressure him to commit and let him do his thing. Maybe he was waiting for Duke, UNC, etc who knows.

If you scroll through his twitter you’ll see he retweets a lot of UConn stuff and even some Hurley. So yea, he’s a UConn guy.
