I have a foot in two camps:
• Would be great to accumulate as much talent as possible. This kid could be a weapon—Lampkin and Davis setting screens, and this guy sniping.
• But, i think Moore is a talented kid, and i kinda want to see him flourish, as soon as possible.

My worst “win” was in Lake Tahoe, playing 7 card stud. I had 4 queens, all showing. Didn’t win squat. Dealer wouldn’t let me fold and claim the “bad beat” pot for losing with 4-of-a-kind.
I was up very big. I get pocket queens. I am leaving after this hand. I raise and get one caller. The flop is 3,3, 10 He checks, I bet, he calls. The turn is a jack. He checks, I bet, he calls. The river is a queen. He goes all in for a lot. I call. He has pocket 3's. Quads. Perfect. Breaking up a fairly long winning streak. I skipped playing today.

That’s poker, I’m not sure I’d call it a bad beat however. Horrible flop for you, but he did make quads. Worse run out for you and by then what could you do? Hit a boat and pot committed. It’s not even like you got out played he flopped quads and was hoping you would hit. That’s holdem for you. I hope it comes back to you next time you play.

So after hearing what Lampkin said about being a facilitator this makes a lot of sense. JJ is your north south driver who plays fast but is a mediocre but still capable shooter, Bell is an elite shooter and you have playmakers and ball movers around them so adding another big time shooter to go with Moore the frosh makes a lot of sense. Carlos plays less than 30 and you mix and match ball handlers when he is out but ultimately you always have guys who can handle it and facilitate on the floor.

I know this kid can really shoot but can he handle the rock? Is he just a stand still shooter that needs people to create open shots for him or can he get shots on his own? If he can create his own shot and shoot like he does and with Bell and Elijah we won’t have to worry about three point shooting. One last question. Is he athletic? I hope he isn’t a problem on defense. Don’t be a make a three and then just give it back on the other end. For those that know I’m just wondering what type of player we would be getting.

Given that the NCAA loses almost every lawsuit, and having read the claims of the guys at St John’s who filed suit in NY, I expect the NCAA to lose this one as well.
The judge has 2 motions scheduled today, the impetus of their case is to make a decision before the NBA withdrawal deadline. I'm not a lawyer but would assume if there's no decision by Thursday its bad news.

He moves very well without the ball and has a quick release. Handle isnt bad but doesn’t do a ton of it- he can drive it and in general is extremely good scoring off of screens. Preferably we won’t be looking to force one guy to beat pressure and use experience to pass our way through pressure with composure and using the big guy to run the offense through as well.
I can only play Poker 2-3 times a year cuz I can't handle the bad beats. I will be playing some out in Vegas in October though. Going out for the UNLV game.
I wouldn't over-analyze the need for a specialist coming off the bench to be more than Red needs him to be; he's a knock-down shooter from range, and this team needs that. Plenty of guys on the roster to fill in the skill gaps around him to set him up for success doing what he excels at doing. This would be a good pickup.
