Class of 2018 SG Eric Ayala (DE/IMG) to Maryland

Develop who? We don't have a 3 to develop? Plus, we don't have enough players to even practice. What if someone gets hurt? We need players and the 5th year guys can give us a bridge so that we won't embarrass ourselves. That is good enough for me. We aren't going to be good enough in football. should we not sign the 5th year guys that we did? They will help us be more competitive.
I pray you are right. I physically feel
nauseous right now.

What are you basing this opinion on? Ayala might not even reclassify. If he waits until 2018 any number of schools could become involved. What makes you so confident?

I hate to say I told you so... but...
This sucks!

Wow. I will say more next week. This is not what he told the staff earlier in the month.

1. Kids don't always tell the truth.
2. Kids can be easily influenced by outsiders (think Quade at the last minute).
3. I'm not sure on ANY recruit until they commit, and that's the approach SU should take. Enough with the all in recruiting strategy!
4. Colleges are using Boeheim's age to negatively recruit against us. This trend will continue.
5. I posted when JB signed his extension that this might hurt us, and that it would not provide continuity that recruits are looking for. Fair or not, at 72, it's possible that JB doesn't stay that long. The recruits know this.

Maybe there will be a Bobby Bowden type scenario in the next year or two. We'll see what type of talent JB can bring in from the 2018 class.

Not sure why anyone is surprised by this, writing has been on the wall for a while he wasn't reclassifying. Ncaa clearinghouse issues woukd have been a major issue if you catch my drift.

What do u mean? Supposedly he had everything in order and his test grades etc were all set to reclass if he chose to do so?

Ive heard he doesn't have the test scores at this point.

I've heard different - just throwing that out there .

I certainly could have wrong info so you absolutely could be right. That said I was told months ago he wouldn't be reclassifying and that grades/test scores were the main reason.

"And as for any eligibility concerns, there are none. Ayala told Carlson that he has his test scores and grades and wouldn’t have any trouble joining a program for the 2017-18 season from an academic viewpoint"

Per a article with Chris carlson on tniaam site.

In sorry but I've heard about ten different sides to the story about this kid lately. I don't know what to believe. I do believe he told Zagoria that he won't reclassify and I also read what was written by Ayala two days ago about how he was concerned about Boeheim and the future which stuck out to me like a sore thumb. I'd prepare to move on at this point and stop recruiting this kid for the simple fact that he is toying with us. As fast as Tucker is concerned Idk we shall see. Honestly guys I want players that want to be here.Ayala doesn't sound like a kid who wants to be here. He sounds like a kid who is back and forth. Let's make the decision for him shall we.

Again, my info could be wrong but there's a reason he reclassified to begin with.
Not only the article on TNIAAM, but Syracuse.com a few days ago (maybe a week or 2), Ayala's HS coach also said he has the scores for 2017. Now getting through the NCAA clearinghouse is a whole different ballgame. It took Diallo forever and they're both from the same HS.

Ayala retweets pretty much everything anybody says about him, including Adam Zagoria.

He has NOT retweeted Zagoria's tweet about reclassifying.

Just sayin'...

The person said clearinghouse so I think your right

This hurts

2018 PG @EA_Glo Eric Ayala will remain in 2018 and won't reclass, he tells me.

Two thoughts. Will we really want him in 2018 vs the other 2018 guards we offered? Secondly, will this affect Tucker's decision

If we don't get Ayala and Tucker, I go hard for the 5th year guys and pound the recruiting for next year. There are guys we should get in 2018. One I mentioned that is higher rated than just about anyone we have got in the last 10 years. if JB could find the time to go see him and offer him.

that last part makes me wonder why you think we have any chance with him.
