Class of 2024 SG Jalil Bethea (PA) Offered

From my disadvantaged vantage point, it certainly seems like the staff is working hard. Now, are they working hard in the CBB world or are they working hard in comparison to the end of the JB era. (This is not to say the individual coaches didn't work hard, but is seems pretty accepted that there were handcuffs on the staff).
My concerns are:
What difference is NIL and will we compete, really compete, with the big boys?
Have we fallen so far that we are not held in as high a regard as a "brand" as before and are now just another school?
Does Red and, by extension his staff, which is only 1/3 new, actually have the force of personality to win some of these recruiting fights?

All TBD
However, it may be telling that 2 prior recruits came to SU AFTER JB retired.
Very good points/concerns.

I think JJ was coming regardless once Brea got fired

The longer this goes the more it looks like previous recruits. We get in early and get bounced later in the process. Let’s hope Red turns this around.
Playing MTM should change that.

If anyone is interested, Bethea (#3) and Sorber (#21) play in the game starting at 6:03:38 in this video. They're on the light blue team.

I think these two prior recruits were exactly that, two prior recruits that probably would have found there transfer portal way to Cuse regardless of the coach.

I am excited for Autry but will hold off until he starts pulling in his own guys. He needs to come through with something more in this transfer portal!

Cuse

Good, because this kid is top 20, in my opinion. I love Elijah Moore and Donnie Freeman, but Bethea is getting so good. He is a pro.
Which is why our coaches were involved with him so early and have been consistently recruiting him. They saw his potential last year, way ahead of these Johnny-come-lately programs. Hope he recognizes that.
