Class of 2025 SG Kiyan Anthony (NY) COMMITTED & SIGNED TO SYRACUSE (11/15/24)

I remember when Tyus Battle went to Michigan on a visit and then committed. I had that feeling that I’m done following recruiting. We had spurned Jamal Murray in favor of Tyus (at least that’s how I understood it), and now were left hanging. We also kept Kevin Huerter on the back burner during that recruitment wanting him to prep a year. Don’t know if either of those guys would have chosen Orange, but those were interesting times. When Tyus (and Gary his dad) flipped his commitment to us, it was a key recruiting win.

I'll say that is one we lost by winning.

Not a knock on Tyus but I'd trade him for having those two together.

Hopefully this one will be different. I'm sure that he would do well at USC or Auburn, but it just doesn't make sense for him to do so. At SU he will truly be surrounded by people who care for him and his family and will be there for him regardless of his success playing basketball. If there is one legacy recruit out of all of our sports that should attend Syracuse it is him. I can't think of anyone else that even comes close.

Murray and Huerter were better players, but they also didn’t play in college as long as Tyus.
Yep, and Tyus helped carry us through a difficult time when we had recruiting sanctions and limited scholarship players. Beating MSU in Detroit was the equivalent of had Oklahoma beat us in Albany. Just ask our 2000 team how difficult that is to do.

Interesting that I read (and I know that it doesn’t matter) that he doesn’t have a scholarship offer from Auburn. This was relatively recent article.
That info is in a Bleacher Report article from a couple of days ago.

Found it surprising that Auburn hasn't officially offered.
They recruit him but He's essentially applying to them to offer?
How does that work?
Is there a particular strategy there?
Amyone know?

Sounds to me he will pick Auburn if offered, why else have them in your top 3?
