SG Kiyan Anthony (NY) COMMITTED & SIGNED TO SYRACUSE (11/15/24)

We are looking good with wing guys next year - Choppa, Fennell, Womack and now Kiyan. Westry can also play the 1 through 3.

Petar, Cuffe and Sadiq make 8 guys. We will need about 3 experienced players from the portal (one pure point guard and 2 bigs).
Great variety of skill sets

Chance will still be here if he proves he’s healthy and likely JJ unless he can prove he can shoot with consistency and defend. Who knows about Bell.
I think JJ is gone after this season. It's generally harder for a senior to get drafted unless he makes a huge leap from junior to senior year (which rarely happens). JJ is a first rounder if he has a solid year and puts up a respectable 3 point shooting percentage. At a minimum, he's a second rounder or 2 way commitment candidate.

He’s not listed on top 100 lists. This board continuously overrates his NBA prospects. He can make more money if he stays in school. Just look at what happened to Judah.

don't have to wait much longer, just a couple weeks!!

all that talk about guys we missed on or who never made it to campus with no mention of Karlton Hines. (surprising)

Or goes overseas. Does not have plus NBA size or ball skills. Thats ok. We are not an NBA franchise.

His story has been used to exemplify “wild”.

Let’s see Chance play 1-3 games. (Hoping we get a full season.)

At this point most of us will be surprised if he doesn’t pick Syracuse.
Correct. It would be a gut punch if the tea leaves being read (red) aren’t what happens here. Weirder things have happened. LGO

You have no idea who will be here next year. It’s a complete crap shoot
The OP I responded to stated he could play positions 1-3 next year. I’d just like to see him play at all this year.
It’s a crap shoot if anyone will be alive tomorrow, let alone playing basketball next year.

I am aware that he's not listed on mock draft lists. There are a lot of guys not listed on EARLY mock lists that end up getting drafted and vice versa. That is why I said if he ends up with a respectable 3 point shooting percentage, he will have a chance. Judah is a perfect example of not meeting the expectations needed for him to be drafted.

It's cool how open Carmelo and Kiyan have been about their recruiting plans. From early on they told us how many visits they would take and when they would announce and they have done it exactly how they said they would.

Carmelo is an A+++ basketball parent when you listen to him talk about Kiyan's development and path forward, too. Pretty much the exact opposite of the way Bronny's career has been handled thus far.

It's refreshing.

Not only that, but every year there are far more guys who declare than will get drafted. Last year, there were 195 early entree candidates. Some guys know they won’t hear their name called, but are happy to take their chances in the G league or overseas.

Kiyan would immediately be part of the family at SU.

But what if Auburn makes him the offer for which he's campaigning?
Does he tell them, "Ha...only kidding"?
