Class of 2017 SG/SF Jordan Tucker (NY / GA) Leaving Duke to Butler

Baye told me the other day some players are concerned the zone hurts their stock. It's a real issue.
I agree with Baye.

Whether or not it actually does impact players is irrelevant because the perception is there that it does. And that can and will be played against us in recruitments...

For those who haven't seen yet. I'm not too worried about Georgia tech getting the last visit. He's saying all the right stuff just as most kids do. He'll commit to the school he wants when he does. His timeline is by the end of the month it tuis visit to cuse this weekend is strictly business. I wouldn't be surprised by a commitment this week but I wouldn't bank on it either. It'll come.
I hope you are right. I think most kids that say all the right stuff though don't go into the detail he did. I could see him doing his Oregon visit too. The reality is that G Tech is like 30 minutes from where he is going to school so I'm not sure the last visit matters. He could go there after school if he wanted.

Come on dude, Quade Green has nothing to do with Jordan Tucker's commitment to SU or GT. Even bringing him up is bunk.

Seriously, some kids actually want to play in front of their family. And GTech isn't some scrub school, either. It's an ACC program that looks to be on the rise. I'm not sure why you're poo-pooing them so much.

Just in terms of a kid from one area going to school in another area, Gtech had a nice year last year, but we are Syracuse, losing a kid to them would be a big deal, considering our problems in recruiting lately.

Tucker to Georgia Tech would be unprecedented.

Yeah we haven't had a five star recruit choose an irrelevant basketball program in a whole month.

Kenny Anderson and Stephon Marbury say hi... We have lost more recruits to GT than won...

His family lives in Atlanta. I don't know why it'd be such a shock or program defining on our end if he goes there...

And then there's this...
And Georgia Tech returns a focal point in their offense in SF Josh Okogie. He's not moving and I can't see Tucker being all that eager to play the 4.

Pretty sure we won't be getting a commitment this weekend. Hopefully he likes what jb and the staff has to say and being that he has always liked us hopefully in the end he chooses us...really wish we could just get the deal done but looks like we will be waiting a little longer.

Based upon what?

Not after last year. Pastner has that program heading in the right direction and they have a few great players returning. Lammers could be first team All-ACC next year.

Stephon Marbury was more than 20 years ago.

Kenny Anderson was nearly three decades ago.

Zero relevance to this discussion. Now, there may be reasons why Tucker might choose to stay closer to home / family, but I'm not remotely worried about "precedence" when it comes to this recruitment.

Quadree Green is from Philly and he went to Uk, it sounds like he really likes us, if he picks a Gtech who hasn't been relevant in years over us, its a big deal.
You don't seen the difference between someone from Philly going to UK and someone from Atlanta going to Georgia Tech?

So precedence has a statute of limitations?!

I'd be shocked if he commits this weekend . Hope i am shocked, but don't see it happening .

I said several pages back we moved into the poll position because of JB's visit.
JB will close this weekend. He may not sign but I am fairly confident this kid is coming here. It makes too much sense. He sees the roster and PT and knows he will play.

Plus he liked us the whole time and it was our coaches who backed off after last summer. JB visiting personally told him how serious we are.

Sarcasm font will be a reality someday.

Higher rates recruits have chosen worse programs then Georgia Tech was the point I was akwardly trying to make.

Can he even sign this weekend if the signing period begins on the 12th? He can give a verbal and that's it, right?

Both are going out of their area to go somewhere. Gtech bball in Atlanta isn't that big of a deal.

Georgia Tech is in his backyard. Period.

I tend to agree. Even if we played 75/25 zone and man it would help but that isn't happening. It's funny that in your post about Baye he mentioned someone who wanted to play man and I always use Southerland as an example of someone who can't play man.

Based upon what?

No info or anything like that..just basing it off of the latest interview with him...seems like he will take his time and go through the visits and hear out the other programs then choose what's best for him...i hope that he was just saying the right things and going through the motions and will like his visit so much with jb and the staff that he does commit...i want that more then anything..just a feeling that he doesn't
