Class of 2020 SG/SF Nate Kingz (OR) TRANSFERRING TO SYRACUSE (4/2/25)

I have a poster telling me that we should be able to bring in 15 good guys. I just don't see that as a possibility. If we can get to 11, I would be very happy with that.
12 guys is a good number 2 centers 1 c/pf. 2 sf 2 pf 2 pg 1 combo and 2 sg. If you want to add a couple of projects go ahead but let them know thet are red shirts unless severe injuries.

Happy to get a great 3 pt shooter but ... If Kingz plays SF that means only one of Freeman and White can play at a time. Seems strange?
He only averaged 2.5 rebs/game. Light for SF.

You need someone who can shoot, period.

And he appears to be not a negative on D, another positive.

I'm not worried about boards with Freeman around

Not in my mind, I’m starting White over Kyle atm, but in rotations they can play together anyway

There's our 3 with high scoring / shooting upside.

I was comparing his stats to Bell's over the year, Fairly similar. Kingz does have a little better shooting %. But one thing that stuck out was he had about 2.5X the assists. Hopefully a sign of a better all around player.

I'll take anything at this point.

My initial hot take reaction is that we just got a slightly smaller version of Chris Bell. Hardly any rebounds or steals. He did have a great game against Gonzaga, though. 20 points on 6-11 FG including three threes, plus three steals and a pair of blocks.

On his highlight reel he definitely looks like a better ball handler, driver, and passer than Bell. Not a ”stand in the corner” type.

In addition to shooting he can handle and pass and can’t be a worse defender.

Much more well-rounded game than Bell, too.

Maybe not as much of a pure shooter, but pretty darn good. Way more versatility -- can handle, drive, pass, puts in effort on D, etc.

My apologies if this has been asked before and I missed it but what's the scoop on him transferring? Why? More cash?

Also, why would a 44% shooter from deep not have more ppg?

Just to be clear, I'm happy but just wondering.

i cant believe that anyone who has watched SU the last 10 years as a fan would be comfortable with 2 centers

heck even last year every time eddie was on the bench the team blew huge chunks and went down big...red wouldnt even play naheem until the end of the season

i get it that we might not be able to bring in "good guys" yeah so???

you cant teach height...you need some viable 7 footers who can take up space foul and rebound etc...i would like 4 if not 3 such players to feel good about the season
