With Lampkin, Freeman didn’t have a chance to find his offensive identity right away.
Freeman was a top50 forward as a Junior in high school based on his post game, rebounding and general athleticism. He shot up the ranks when he showed he could consistently hit the three over the summer, and as a senior. He suddenly was a three level scorer, at 6’9”, not just a post player. That Freeman ended up 8th in the RSCI.
He’s very difficult to defend one on one. He’ll post up even size or smaller guys, or shoot over or drive around bigger guys.
He was getting more comfortable playing at this level when he was injured. I’m no less excited about him for his sophomore year than I was for his freshman year. His actual production was good, but his potential is still even better.
