But still has them ahead of us. Why are we doing this to ourselves?

Cheers,
Neil

Yep, after all there will be no losers but only 4 winners in the Cincy/Uconn and St. Joes / GW games tomorrow.

At first look at the side by side comparison I thought SU would swat Vandy away like Fab Melo would swat opponents shots away. Then I looked more closely and saw some things on the chart that would go in their favor.

Additionally, I then wondered if they had any top players out, as the BPI takes into account. I figured if they didnt, the Boeheim factor may tip the scales just enough. Apparently they did though, and are listed as 4-4 in that category, if it matters. espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bpi/_/teamId/238

I dont know if BPI means anything to anyone, and I was kind of happy seeing Syracuse at 38, until I saw Vandy at 23! Just some more data points for folks to interpret, if they wish.

Last night Bilas was very clear in his opinion that we should get in over Oregon State. He made no bones about it. Not that this means anything, but it was interesting to hear from someone on the outside looking in.

Wow, he really favors the mid-majors getting the bubble bids:

8 - St. Bonaventure (what??)
9 - St. Joe's
10 - VCU, Cincy, Temple
11's in the play-in - Wichita, UConn, Tulsa, GW

All mid-majors, all with iffy resumes. The only major conferences teams getting in on the bubble are Texas Tech (8), Butler (9), Pitt (9), Oregon State (9), South Carolina (10). I'd say Butler and Pitt are definitely ahead of us, TT is questionable, and we are better than Oregon State and South Carolina. Outside of Kentucky and Texas A&M, SC played 1 top 50 team (Tulsa at 47). Yikes.

I don't necessarily think we belong in, but some of these teams certainly don't belong ahead of us...
