And 8-3 in conference. One game out of 1st place. That's really good for the MAAC. They can't afford a let down on Sunday.15 wins on the season already.
What an improvement from only 4 wins 2 years ago.

Of their problems this season is that one of their historical 3 pt shooters -- Brendan Boyle -- has been off his range this year. It’s ironic that 3 point shooting has been an issue with Siena all year despite GMac’s prowess here. Surprised that more gym rat type sharp shooters haven’t committed to Siena.
And a point guard that had 6 assists and 0 turnovers! Another thing that helps win!20-23 from the line. As you’d expect! How to win close games.
Coyle is really struggling and last night was one of his worst games on both ends of the court. Fortunately Gerry didn't play him much in the 2nd half and it definitely worked, until the other guys let Niagara close the gap.Of their problems this season is that one of their historical 3 pt shooters -- Brendan Boyle -- has been off his range this year.
Any competent D-I coach has no time for anything other than coaching his own team during the season.it's a 2 plus hour drive from sienna to syracuse. any idea if little gerry ever makes the trip to watch his alma mater ? does he live even closer ? no idea myself.
Yep, although seed definitely helps. In conference tournaments like the MAAC that have so many teams that are separated by so little, any advantage helps. Even the lowest-seeded teams can rise up on any given night and knock off a top seed.Way too soon I know but wouldn’t it be ironic if they made the NCAAT.
Obviously, conference standing doesn’t matter, it is all about the year end conference tournament.
13 teams in the league, the top 10 make the tournament with day one 7 v 10 and 8 v 9. The extra game starts at seventh place. Siena currently sitting in third with a 3 game lead over the seventh place team, so they're comfortably playing day 2Yep, although seed definitely helps. The more I watch and listen to Gerry, the more I think that how much of JAB that has rubbed off on him. Not surprising, considering how long he was around him. I don't see it so much in Red, but definitely Gerry.Yes I did. He does not hold back his thoughts at all. I thought he was harder on his team for their play in the first half, although they had a 2 point halftime lead, than he was about letting them back in it at he end. If I recall correctly, without Niagara's last second 3 it was a 6 point game. I thought Niagara stayed in it by their 3 point shooting.
Edit: I went back and looked at the end of the game. Niagara's last 3 pt basket was with just .3 of a second left.
Yes, I agree. Although not quite as dour as JB. I think Gerry knows how to push the right buttons of his players. I didn't watch their game today as I was watching the SU lacrosse game. Did you watch? If so how did they look? I saw the final score. I'll post the Siena BB tweets. The more I watch and listen to Gerry, the more I think that how much of JAB that has rubbed off on him. SU fans may double their TV ratings. Something positive to watch.Just pulled off a nice win against canisius by 15 points.
Only one game out of first place
Next game Thursday at home against Iona
Then Saturday at St. Peter’s who is first in the league
They shot the ball well again. Mixed up the lineup somewhat today, and its good to see Gerry finding the right guys to get it done. First sweep of WNY in 10 years.Yes, I agree.
