So who starts next game- Hunt or Allen?...

i'm telling you he is serving some unspoken suspension for last semester

Why last semester? He has played and been in the travel squad.

maybe he has to maintain a certain level academically? I just keep thinking back to an interview when HCSS said he was working hard, but still has a ways to go. I always thought it was odd, and non football related.

unless he is injured i don't see a reason why he would go from traveling to not traveling?

Hunt will start, but Allen should. He is the better QB and it will be easier to transition to one of the new guys next season. I thought Hunt had shown he was the better QB for this team, but man you have to have some kind of threat passing the ball.
Allen is a threat passing the ball?

It's a rhetorical question.

I have no opinion anymore because there is no point. There is no answer.

Maybe break up the freshmen. Having them both redshirt probably makes as little, if not less sense than throwing one in the fire.

I just can't believe the passing game is really this inept, and with using 2 different QBs.

Play em both. Go with a 2 QB system. Nothing to lose at this point. Personally, i would play Allen altho i'm questioning whether we have a high D-1 QB on the roster at this point. Hunt certainly isn't one at this point and i'm doubtful he ever will be but this is about this season.

With Hunt's inability to throw the ball beyond 15 yards it just screws up the whole offensive scheme. G Tech played the safeties just outside the box knowing we couldn't throw the ball. It was obvious.

At least you have to gameplan for the pass when Allen is playing leaving more running gaps for the our RB. He can throw the patterns which can't be said for Hunt.

I'm looking to win 6 this year and not worried about next year or anything after that. We need to get to .500 this year. Its so important to this program right now. So you need to play whoever can help you win that day. Both QB's should be in consideration based upon game, opponent, score, situation and they should be used accordingly.

Far more so than Hunt. Allen's problem is he throws a hot ball so he needs to be more accurate.

Are people already forgetting Allen's 11-37 showing with 4int's? He isnt the answer either. at least with Hunt he is a threat to run, and the defenses need to account for it. it helps open up our running game which is the only thing we do half way decent on offense.

IMO the worst part of this is that, next season, the QB position is going to be wide open.
Allen will be gone. Hunt doesn't seem to be showing significant progression with his passing.
As a result, it'll be an open competition.
We're not making progress at QB.

Were mid-terms this past week?

unfortunately as scary as it is this is exactly why we need to keep Hunt in there. There is absolutely no guarantee that any of the qb's on the roster, or AJ Long is any better. It's probably a stretch to even assume that. Use the rest of this season to get him more game experienced in case he has to play again next year. At least he is a threat with his legs, Allen gives us absolutely nothing what so ever

I have no idea. Wish a reporter would actually ask why he didn't travel though. i'm sure we won't get a straight answer, but at least we could probably find out if he was injured

Wilson. Yea burn a red shirt we have to find our future Q B. Allen's gone and Hunt can't throw

I really feel bad for Allen because if we had D-1 caliber WR's I'd say start Allen but since we have the worst assembly or WR talent in the ACC I gotta say stick with Hunt even though I am beyond unimpressed with him.

Not really sure why you continue to bang the Hunt drum despite 3 consecutive miserable performances. We have RB's who can run the ball, we need a QB who is at least a threat to complete a pass that travels pass the line of scrimmage. Hunt cannot complete a pass downfield against league competition. Thats a huge problem and you can't pin that defect on Allen.

As i said earlier, use both of them and go with the guy ithat is hot during the game. Short leash for both of them. Committing to either is weak-minded.

I want Hunt to get snaps this season so he can be experienced as possible with the tempo and pressure of the game and to work on his passing accuracy. Allen getting snaps is throwing them away. QB progression is too important for this team.

I just really hope something turns around this year for Hunt.
For Hunt to get all this experience and not have a solid hold on the job next year would be depressing. It would mean all the game time this year would basically be wasted.

I continue to beat that drum because as bad as he has been the past 3 games it's still far better then what Allen gave us in the first 2 games and 3 drives vs freakin Wagner. Do you remember that Wagner game? 3 straight 3 and outs. Again we moved the ball in the first quarter on the ground and with short passes before our offensive line imploded with stupid mistakes

The best thing that can be said about Allen in the passing game is that he's been slightly less awful than Hunt.

So, have another 2 week tryout. May the least worst man win.

Hunt looks to me like a guy who just played the game and threw the ball against Wagner and Tulane because he wasn't worried about the defenders. Since then, he plays like a guy who thinks that every pass he makes is going to be intercepted. You can almost see him thinking it while he's in the pocket.

Allen probably thinks it too, because of, well, all the interceptions he's thrown.

After today, I hold little hope of improvement. Mostly because it's getting worse. No answers to this one.

Hunt can not throw the ball against conference teams no matter how much "experience" he gets. Start Wilson and see what he has. Other teams have no problem starting freshman QB's. If Wilson sucks for three games then start Kimble the last games. Get them all game experience. No need to red shirt both of them.

I'm actually am beginning to convince myself to use both of them.

Based on the stats posted in the other thread 35-79, 0 TDs & 8 INTs...do we have to start a QB?

Seriously? Neither can throw and only one can run. Every team left knows what to expect

At the same time?

I'm beginning to convince myself to play AJ Long. Just go pull him out of HS and suit him up now.
