So who starts next game- Hunt or Allen?...

i have to believe hunt is some place between the first 2 games and these last 3 -
i wonder if he wasnt asked to do as much those 2 early games and flourished ,now he wants to be the "man" and is over thinking everything -

he showed enough to be a serviceable qb -

i hope the whole team takes a week off from football- god knows practice dont help,maybe relaxation will-
from my seat the staff and players have gotten themselves into trouble by trying to be the smartest guy around instead of the steadiest

I only thought Hunt was Bad in the NC State game ,Clemson game only Broyld could get open so incomplete, Georgia Tech game I only saw Hunt for 1 or 2 series as I wasn't home until 130

it's hard to believe that the difference in competition makes that much of a difference. there were so many disclaimers of i know it was wagner and i know it was tulane, but still, it's baffling.

i bet the coaches were as surprised about the Wagner and Tulane games as we are about the following 3. i wonder if deep down they thought "oh we have to start him now" after tulane... i wouldn't blame them

You and 'Bees are right, assuming SU wants to pass the ball that is.

If we do not want to pass the ball, then go with Hunt. Otherwise, it is Allen.

The passing offense had a slightly better clip to it with Allen in. And when saying slightly better, I cannot overemphasize how bad Hunt's passing is. He reminds me of me in flag football. If you could coach out Allen's tunnel vision, and increase his awareness, he would be a very serviceable QB.

So, the real question is, what is the best offense for SU for winning this season?

Put Allen at QB and Hunt at halfback. Go wildkitty every now and again.

More importantly, we need assistants who can coach these players up, and "CEOs" who do not overthink things like the defensive strategy.

We need to hit the coaches convention hard this offseason, and spend that ACC cash on the best assistants in the game. (if only it were that easy).

your right. the first 3 drives we were moving, but OL penalities killed us. By then our defense didn't hold once and we were down 21 and were forced to abandon the run, and that certainly isn't Hunts game

we weren't forced to do that, we chose to do that.

What were those 5 big bodies doing the first 2 games then? The amount of yardage Hunt has picked up on the ground himself is more then the difference Allen would give you through the air. It's like everyone forgot just how bad the first 2 games were. When he wasn't getting passes batted back in his face or throwing them out of bounds when trying to go up the sidelines he was throwing them to the other team

Ya and 7 of the points in the first 2 games went to Hunt and Allen playerd the whole second half yesterday in garbage time and still couldn't sxore


I'm picking the lesser of 2 evils. What's the point of starting a senior in basically a meaningless last 5 games? I don't think he is decidedly better where he can account for a win. We still don't know who our qb is next year. There is no guarantee any of the red shirt freshman or true freshman were bringing in are going to be better. In fact I'm willing to bet they won't and we very well may end up with Hunt again so might as well get him the experience this season

Seriously? The same Ped Sr defense thT got 50 hung on them by Michigan and 40 something by UCF and Indiana? Or the Northwestern defense who got torched by Ohio St and whoever beat them up last weekend? Not a chance. I'll take Clemson, NCSt and GT defenses over them any day

I can not come up with a reason to start Hunt actually. He has been that awful. If you are trying to win now and make a bowl then start Allen. If you are trying to get a person some game snaps experience. It is clear that Hunt is not a start on the D1 level at least not in the ACC so start Wilson and get him some experience and see how he reacts. He has 5 games to show some flashes.
