Why not? We just got rolled by a team that went 3-5 passing. We have RB's and our line may be decent? I don't really care to see either Hunt or Allen again. Sellout to the run, Broyld should be able to do that. Or, play the freshman, both of them or whichever is most ready. I'm sick of hearing about burning redshirts. Who gives a flying about redshirts? Hope AJ Long is ready next year, if not, maybe Kimble or Wilson can do something that doesn't embarrass the team. What I don't want is to watch a 5th year senior stink or a RS soph that cant throw get game experience that gives him an advantage he doesn't deserve over possibly more talented players. We're 1-4 against real teams this year. The staff has 2 weeks to get creative. Bottom line though, whoever plays QB for SU I will cheer for and hope they are successful. The more I think about it with these WR's and RB's Broyld makes some sense, hope the coaches show some nads. Sorry for the rant!Broyld.

No way he starts next year A J Long is clearly salivating after watching yesterdayAs a football program we HAVE to start Hunt.
We need someone with game experience next year.
Not only would it undermine the coaches' decision making capabilities to the team, it would crush any chance of giving Hunt any shot of reaching his potential, whatever that may be.
I don't necessarily disagree that Allen couldn't do better, or at least equal, but no matter what, the answer isn't going to be a true freshman or RS frosh next year. Donovan McNabb isn't in our stable and the coaches, if they end up with 4 wins let's say, aren't going to go through another crap year breaking in someone new and basically writing their own obituaries.
Maybe they'll put in Allen, but they've handled this whole QB situation terribly this year.
With all that said, I really wish we could have seen Allen and/or Hunt with at least one above-average wide receiver (true WR).
Allen can throw the ball.
sure he can throw the ball, he has a rifle. he just doesn't know where it will land. 11-37.
if i was a stud HS qb and wanted to play early I would actually be calling Syracuse right now
Did you watch yesterday's game? Do you think he knew where it was going?
Allen can throw the ball.
No. One of his first few passes was high and intercepted. They both are bad passers, but the little advantage Allen may have through the air, Hunt gives you more on the ground. It's not like our offense pushes the ball down field. All we need is short passes so his arm is wasted as it is. It was garbage time and he couldn't score the entire 2nd half. At least we got past the 40 yard line once with Hunt
Getting past the 40 once makes one a better QB? Ok.
Allen is the better QB. Even the staff knows that. I'll say again, he had to be more precise as he through a a hot ball. He throws ropes. There were 4 incs yesterday that were catchable balls.
If the staff knows it why is Hunt starting? We don't have wr's anyways I will take Hunt's legs over Allen's inaccurate ropes for now. Allen has no pocket awareness and really nothing other then being able to throw a hot mostly inaccurate ball

They had to make the change. The offense wasn't producing. Sometimes you make change for changes sake. Again, he looked pretty accurate to me yesterday. Damn accurate but we dropped 4. Even the int is a catch if the WR turns around sooner. Timing was off due to the ball getting there so quickly.
your right. the first 3 drives we were moving, but OL penalities killed us. By then our defense didn't hold once and we were down 21 and were forced to abandon the run, and that certainly isn't Hunts gameMaybe I need to watch the game again, but I don't think Hunt was as bad this game as the perception. He was getting little time to throw the ball every pass play and the running game wasn't as strong as usual. Empty backfield=disaster unless you plan on running the QB b/c everyone and their bubby knows you're throwing, so you just line up an extra guy who can't be blocked.
Who's fault is the timing - the WR or the QB? Also, how many starters was GT playing against us in the 4th quarter? Were they the same players that Hunt was playing against in the first? You used the same reasoning for why Hunt was successful against NW in the 4th, I'm going to use it here.
At the end of the day, they are both not very good right now. Who cares who is better?
You don't even know what I said. Timing is usually both. Allen throws the ball on a line and comes our quickly.,WR's have to adjust quicker., and since aim not talking about stats, it doesn't matter who was in for GT. I'm talking about how he throws he ball. And for the most part he threw it very well yesterday. 4 were drops.
