Some good quotes from P...

I've posted not-so-nice things about P and said even worse things -- but the dude is a good coach and always has been a truly classy guy. Good for him.

I've always respected the heck out of P. I think he will get an opportunity at some level (FCS?) again. I doubt it will be FBS.

With Coach P out of football for now, I think it would be a good idea to invite him to the Dome to be honored at one of the remaining games this season...

I'm guessing he would respectfully decline.

Coach P is getting a bit long in the tooth, so to speak. What is he, 67 or 68 now? Kind of old to be trying to find a new coaching job. Yeah, I know Boeheim is about the same age, but the BB program has been his baby for so long that I'm sure he does not have to put the kind of energy and effort into it as it would take to start a new program. Time to kick back and start collecting your Social Security checks, Paul!

Too soon - just look at some of the other threads on him around here. Also need to see if he stays out or lands a gig somewhere else.

Need to make sure he'll get a good reception. To do that: (1) wait until we're more definitively back on track and likely to be having a good season so the crowd is in a good mood; (2) honor one of his teams on an anniversary of a special season or something and introduce him (whether or not he actually attends) along with the group to gauge the response; (2a) could also have an event honoring all past coaches, but that could get awkward due to some of the more recent ones ; and (3) if we're at a point where the nostalgia outweighs the bitterness, bring him in for an individual honor.

If SU ever created a ring of honor for football Coach P would be one of my 3 automatic head coaches to be part of it. He was a lightning rod at the end of his coaching term, but the man epitomizes the term class. Coach P could make you want to pull your hair out with some games, but I never heard the man take any cheap shots, ever point the finger at the kids, and was a true professional. I wish well in his future endeavors and hope he gets honored at a Syracuse football game in the future.

Gump is the DC of Texas. Of course P will be in FBS again.

He should be invited to come to McNabb's ceremony and I hope that he would accept. Things didn't end well, but I think we'd all sign up for P's record on and off the field in a heartbeat.

Despite G-Rob's record, I am thankful that SU hasn't gone the Kiffin/Skip Holtz route in terms of leadership, and hope this remains the case.

Kudos to him.

I hope everyone can put away the pitchforks and see the day that he gets a standing ovation before a big game at the Dome and is honored.

I agree. I can't see Pasqualoni, the upstanding paisan he is, accepting an invite from the current administration. Perhaps after TWO and TGD have moved on.

next head coach of tampa bay:rolling:

but seriously, he should consider this...
PP has his sense of humor. Asked what he'd do next: "I might go down and see if South Windsor needs and 8th grade coach."
