Someone Had To Do It: Miami Attendance

Amen. If you bring up the Stanford loss then YOU are the loser. Yet they say nothing about the comeback wins.

Those people really expected a championship contender team where tickets are 20 bucks. You can never win over people like that. Extremely lame attitude.
I want all that and pony rides on the Quad.

Nobody here can predict the attendance. The actual vs announced is even more delusional. Let it play out and attend if you can.
No disrespect at all Bomber. I think many of us crazies are generally pretty accurate on following trends, ticketmaster maps, and general interest to gauge probable butts in the pews. I usally do not comment on actual vs announced, but you are right that it is an excercise in futility.

On the second part, my kids and I will be there, joining our tailgate fam, for a 4 hr drive through the 48-60 inches of snow whacking the north country east of the lake this weekend

And first time in years the team hasn’t cratered due to injuries. And we get guys back after injury.

But UConn was so disappointing. Reality check for me. We do not have a P4 fan base any more.
Yep and it’ll be why Fran leaves if it doesn’t improve.

Be careful my friend.

I think it’ll be hard to sell out. Not enough has moved today. They would need to sell 1k tickets tomorrow and hope for another 1k in walk up sales on Saturday. Not sure that’s reasonable for a holiday weekend.

I’m guessing we announce around 41k and get 39k actual in seats.
Agree it would be ambitious but I’m more encouraged tonight than I was yesterday. I think we’re close enough that SU can find a way to get rid of another 2k tickets.

Maybe have the students show up in all those empty seats? They are on Thanksgiving break for UConn ., annd for Miami . they gave way to many seats to them, imho

39k announced
35k actual
This feels a bit more accurate to the way numbers vs actual butts in seats has gone throughout the season. That said a loud 35k to 36k fans can cause problems for Miami if we can try to be loud on plays other than 3rd down.

We also need to be loud when they're huddling up on third down, before they line up. We all only get loud when the teams line up, need to disrupt them earlier than that for maximum impact.

I always tell people, if you think there is even a remote chance you might want to attend a game or two, buy season tickets. That way you are locked in and for the price of maybe 2 games, you can get the entire season.

Yeah, it took me a few seasons to come around to this point of view. I resisted because I didn't want to have to bother with selling tickets for games I didn't want to attend. But the only way that makes sense is buying seasons. The pricing on single game seats makes it too expensive to bring a group, spur-of-the-moment.

Did not expect any movement on tickets today due the holiday.

We will know by tomorrow night if a sellout is possible.

Below is the Ticketmaster map without Verfied Resale Tickets as of 10:45 PM on Thursday.

If he leaves it'll be for a lot more money in the big 2.

We're no different than most of the ACC with this stuff.
Yep get that.

But if one takes him at his word, and noting it seems he has the intelligence it appears to know making 4.5 mil and ultimately $6mil close to his old home, a home and area where many still are, making that for 20 years with no real pressure vs the big boyz.

So does one take the 10 mil, deal with the stress where it’s NC or bust, likely get fired sooner rather than later as Sabans the outlier, plus it seems like giving back to his community in nj, by helping shape and mold young men there (and here) is important to him if one listens to the guy.

Would seem a good business and everything else decision from a practical viewpoint to hang here.

The variable is support. With the dome, Miron etc that’s happening, can NIL Continue to be competitive? Will the fans continue to stay away/or at least not filling up the place with the Dome half empty?

My gut says that if that continues (NIL) and changes for the better(fans filling the dome), the dudes gonna stick around regardless of SEC/B1G $.

Then again I thought Melo and Marrone would:confused::cool: stick around!

If SU counts people in the building and tickets sold, I think we will be well over 40k. But if it is tickets scanned it will be well below.

A few games this year I have had to sell tickets I wasn't going to use. Ticketmaster always had a suggested price that was way too high. The price I listed was always well below that price and if there were no bites I had to lower it the day before to the price I paid for it (so my net was a loss after TM took 10%).

I listed two for Miami where the TM suggested price was $225 for $150. They sold right away. When I looked at the ticket map this morning I noticed that those tickets were listed for resale at $275. Which makes me wonder was this a ticket broker looking to make a flip? If they are using the same suggested price predictor that TM uses, it could be. That would also explain all those rows with resales still left.

One would think that TM had an accurate suggested price given all the data they have but whatever they use is waaaaay off. Has been all season. So if they are off with the resales, it makes you wonder if they are improperly pricing the regular tickets for SU. My section I see tickets (non resale) for $167. No one is paying that. If all the ticket prices are off, it is no wonder we see so many unsold right now.

SU might want to look into this. Maybe the low attendance this year is more TM overpricing the tickets than lack of interest.

It would help if the SU marketing team gave little nudges on the video boards saying to “get loud” like every other stadium in the world or “shhhhh…quiet” while on offense

I think out of all the things, this is what makes me so frustrated with the marketing on the video boards

The non resale price, so regular tickets from the university, as I understand it, is priced by the University and not Ticketmaster.

Part of the reason for the massive increase
In single game prices, is that they really want to drive home the value of season tickets.

Not sure I agree with the strategy as I think they’ve priced themselves out a bit

You have a good heart :)

I agree. I don’t really understand why they only use it for the start of the 4th quarter. They have to see that it gets the crowd going. It can’t be that hard to put up the graphic on 3rd downs. And of course UConn was another game where the numbskulls started chanting LGO while Syracuse is on offense.

this game is getting to the “casuals” more so then any other game this year (which should be an obvious statement). I know a handful of individuals going that rarely do. It’ll be a good atmosphere.

Exactly, I really really really wish they would do something about it

Daughter and SIL just bought tickets this morning after I explained the QB matchup and that both teams are essentially ranked. They’re in from Albany. Resale end zone tix for $50.

They’re pumped. Thought it was a no brainer and cheap.
