We have also had 3 bad coaches since then (yes I think marrone is a bad coach) Dino is changing the culture and I belive we will make a bowl every year the next 4 years
Not necessarily. It’s more then just the kids. Though as the first class or two is replaced with younger kids that will help. It’s more changing how the administration wants to invest in school and where our goals are. We talk about how bad our facilities and stuff are in various areas. We need to change the mindset that it’s good enough and instead start to invest and I think it’s almost thereThe changing culture thing should be over with at this point shouldn't it? He's going into year 5 at this point and this is HIS roster. There shouldn't be any more culture change necessary at this point.
Thing is the uptick after 10 wins was far smaller than I expecteddifference being there was no incremental uplift after a 10 win season. Cuse football is a vicious cycle.
The correlation is our geography and simple demographics. Hopefully those 2 big German kids want to repopulate upstate New York, and soon.
Still need to get an OC who will find a way to get maximum use out of Jawar Jordan. I don't think Lynch is the person for the job.(I know I'll be accused of being too positive, so please read the following knowing I'd like to sign a higher rated class filled with kids with Ohio St and Clemson offers. I hate that we haven't signed a QB yet and have missed on some monster WR's. Clearly, guys from other countries are a bit more unknown and that is inherently more risky.)
I think some of the angst is that everyone was feeling pretty good at the end of last year and then the season sucked and then our recruiting stayed about where it was (not good enough). I get that and def feel that too.
But, perspective might help. The first two years with Dino, we were happy with the guys he brought in as it felt like we were building towards something (a Clemson win will do that). 10 wins later with 90% of guys that Dino has brought in, including two freshman all-ACC guys - along with a very highly thought of QB on the roster and things were looking like we were back.
The reasons for our 5 win season are well documented and sit at Babers feet. A bad D and a worse OL tanked the season - alongside a kind of unfocused, undisciplined looking team - made any hope of success look distant.
But what if the OL and D can be fixed and the QB with more time and a running game - start to really pick it up? What if last year was a blip, caused by some fixable OL issues and a new DC? Is it that implausible to imagine an 8 win year next season? Does 4, 4, 10, 5, 8 wins - change the perception of our recruiting?
I don't know. I could see it either way.
Honestly if we can keep getting Dungey's or good QBs late who really cares.
Just need to do a better job closing.
lol. Who is sugar coating? I’ve said repeatedly that missing on those guys sucks. I’m just not burning down the house because of it
THANK YOU DRUGS!
Sincerely,
blizz
LMAO.. I'm ticked about the QB and DT situation that just transpired. Its burning down the house now. I think you're actually ticked about the Ozcuse response to your post. It was hilarious
Well the last 2 years we have gotten QBs late and how'd that work out? I'd assume that is more than the norm than Dungey.
which player was that ?
Honestly, I came up with that all by myself.Someone has been watching Netflix World War 2 in color. That is literally verbatim from one of the episodes about the use of meth.
nope and the folks here tell me we cant judge this recruiting class till their 3rd year in the NFL.The changing culture thing should be over with at this point shouldn't it? He's going into year 5 at this point and this is HIS roster. There shouldn't be any more culture change necessary at this point.
Amie did it to himself, not on the staff
Summers is a work in progress and hopefully we don't have to know how good he will be next year
Germany lost the war the moment the invasion of Normandy was successful. Japan finally surrendered because Russia declared war on them. They didn't want to be invaded by Russia. They knew what that meant. Your point might be valid if Germany didn't have to fight a two front war. As did we, I might add.we didn't supply it. they had their own factories mass-producing the pills. troops were writing home to their families begging for more. the doping played a large part in the tide turning. germany had the upper hand until he went crazy and lost his mind with overextending his resources. when you're on meth you think you're invincible.
btw, a 3rd A-bomb was ready to be dropped on Tokyo if they didn't surrender. They did, obviously, but not because of the first 2.
Right kids don't change for a few visits until the are completely free in collegeHow is it not the staffs job to know that Amie was a delinquent? Only bringing in 25 kids a year, should probably have a pretty good read on that kind of thing, especially your major target at the most important position on the team in which intangibles are vital.
Is this the first recruiting cycle you’ve followed? Typically you don’t jump off the ledge 2 months before it ends.
At this pace with 5 or more commits we’ll be a top 45 class, assuming we get Bleich.
Where you around to see what "chicken salad" we picked up last Feb???Most good recruits that were eligible to sign today, signed today. We're left with guys who had academic eligibility issues, plan b's holding out hope for their dream school, and guys who had offers pulled from post season coaching changes.
Maybe we can make chicken salad out of chicken shiet at qb but it's pretty discouraging to know that Dino's first two years bore more fruit at qb recruiting than his last two years.

I know as a teenager I could be on a great act in front of anyone that I was the perfect angel
I rarely did much in High School besides play baseball and video games
Oh boy once I got to college it was a whole new world
Luckily I was able to keep my together and some kids can't
Can't always put that stuff on the staff and it's crazy to think the staff can forsee things that happening
Is it on the staff that Shy failed out?
Is it on the staff that other kids where kicked (Nelson I believe)?
Crazy talk
okay my bad the phone calls, emails, camps, visits to campus. talks to coaches, friends, family, teachers, neighbors, pastors, mailman, etcIf you think the only exposure the staff has to these kids in in person visits with the kids themselves than I don't know what to tell you. For a major long-term target like Amie, they would have talked with A LOT of people to determine what kind of person he is.
So, you think the staff didn't do their due diligence and just threw a commitable offer out there? If you think that, I don't know what to tell you.If you think the only exposure the staff has to these kids in in person visits with the kids themselves than I don't know what to tell you. Stuff happens when kids move away from home.
