Sooo…Does Fran get poached?

Probably not after one year, but if he keeps it up, he'll be offered a boat load of money by a bigger school. Maybe we get SUPER lucky and he not only meant it when he said he wanted to coach here for 10 years and then retire, but the massive sum of money waved in front of him also doesn't change his mind.

Either way, we can't be afraid of success. Hopefully if/when the time comes, JW is prepared with a massive pile of cash of his own.

HXLL NO
FRAN WON’T GO

No way. His whole thing is building a program, defending and supporting the North East, and LOYALTY.

He is in a stronger position to recruit and make an impact here in the North East than he would be at a selector school down south or Midwest.

As we win more money will become available. We will be able to give him raises to keep him well paid and happy.

Plus I think he appreciates the intangible the Syracuse opportunity offers him to be able to walk in the shoes of great black football players who broke barriers and made history at Syracuse.

This is very low on my list of concerns.

Why am I nervi about this?

I haven’t read any answers, but I doubt it. 1 season could be a fluke (I don’t think it is) but most need to see 2

Coach can build a real legacy here. He pretty much said that and Im gonna believe it until i cant, which I would bet on it being 10 or so years from now.
It is a little unusual not to look for greener pastures but all things considered, the pasture round here is a very nice green and cooperative. Noone likes a stubborn pasture thats unreasonable no matter how green.
We know we arent getting any rain in our domed pasture and thats ok, put the dome in SEC country and those boosters will fire you for no rain in their dome.
In my opinion you would have to be out of your damn mind to take that on.
Winners know it dont rain in a dome.
No worries.
The End. Period.
The End.

SEC…meat grinder. Fans don’t appreciate you.
BIG….little bit of the same. Midwest schools. And he isn’t jumping to a big time BIG school now.
Fran is a northeast guy. He has a chance to be consistently good here at Cuse in the ACC. His entire shtick is I’m a guy from Camden who is blue collar. That works at Cuse because our brand has some swag. Always has.
We likely lose Nixon and ERob some time after that but he knows that’s coming and that’s ok. Big time programs lose assistants and coordinators. It means we are doing something right.

&!k no, this dude wants to bring Syracuse back to where we should be. Some will try, he will laugh at them.
Well I hope you’re right but the money will be out of whack if the big boys ever come knocking. It’ll be a 4x pay raise if he went to an SEC school.

We can’t even afford treadmills. Fran will be tested immediately on his loyalty is my guess.

My take on Fran is he’s a man of his word.
I think he truly wants to turn Syracuse into a top-notch program
In Fran I trust
Fran is built differently and genuinely cares about others much more than his bank account. Cuse is a place where he can build a legacy, survive a few potential down seasons (should they arise) and not worry about uprooting his family AND is in the absolute best position to help the community (Camden) that molded him and help the kids there become successful. Cuse checks all the boxes of Fran as a human being effectively.

Fran wants to do great things. Restoring this program to glory is that and it won’t be easy. His stated goal is a national championship. Here. Once he wins that then he might look at other challenges depending on what’s happening with family. But until that …

Nope but I’m very worried about Nixon.

I hope his son loves it here!

That said, it would be a great time to move up for him as he can ride on McCord's and the O's successful year. I would love to have him for at least one more year.
