I had someone very close to me that suffered from that. It is a disease. If they don't have something to worry about, they will invent it.To understand my perspective on this, you have to know my life story a little bit. For much of my life, my dad has been a very negative person. Not intentionally, but he just couldn't help himself to find something to worry or criticize in almost every situation. It wasn't until my mom forced him to get counseling that it finally got better.
To tie this back the thread, sure Fran might leave. Hopefully he agrees with me that the NE is the best fit for his success. But I'm going to enjoy every minute of it while I can and not worry until I have something to worry about. This season has been too fun to not enjoy it for awhile
If Boeheim turned down The Ohio State University, so can Fran. He’s not going anywhere. Imagine if Day at Ohio State gets fired and they offered Fran. I can hear him now, “If McCord isn’t good enough for you, neither am I”
My only future concerns are Penn State, Rutgers and potentially Maryland.
Penn State, along with some of the top resource-rich SEC and Big10 schools, could be a threat. The other two northeast sad sacks you mentioned, I don’t think so. But I think we’re a few years away from having to worry about any of that. I think Fran wants to fully rebuild Cuse and get us to the playoffs (and maybe some titles!) first. Hopefully he never leaves! Right now I’m gonna enjoy the ride, as others have said.My only future concerns are Penn State, Rutgers and potentially Maryland.
Ever read this site. It’s alway the sky is falling, what if this, what if that.So SU? What does that even mean? You make it sound like most SU fans are insecure. Speak for yourself.
Where though? Nothing really a good gig. In fact, a ton of dead jobs.Id be shocked if Nixon didnt leave for an HC gig
Rutgers is probably the only job he leaves for.
If the AD ever let that happen, he’d be done.If that happens, we should close up shop on the football program.
I've said before SU will never compete in the coach arms race if he hit on a good one. Instead of lamenting that fact take the opportunity to make the Dome a lab for hotshot young innovative coaches. If they have enough success to get poached that's a good thing and find the next one. Eat sleep rave repeat.Probably not after one year, but if he keeps it up, he'll be offered a boat load of money by a bigger school. Maybe we get SUPER lucky and he not only meant it when he said he wanted to coach here for 10 years and then retire, but the massive sum of money waved in front of him also doesn't change his mind.
Either way, we can't be afraid of success. Hopefully if/when the time comes, JW is prepared with a massive pile of cash of his own.
