Sooo…Does Fran get poached?

&!k no, this dude wants to bring Syracuse back to where we should be. Some will try, he will laugh at them.

To understand my perspective on this, you have to know my life story a little bit. For much of my life, my dad has been a very negative person. Not intentionally, but he just couldn't help himself to find something to worry or criticize in almost every situation. It wasn't until my mom forced him to get counseling that it finally got better.

To tie this back the thread, sure Fran might leave. Hopefully he agrees with me that the NE is the best fit for his success. But I'm going to enjoy every minute of it while I can and not worry until I have something to worry about. This season has been too fun to not enjoy it for awhile
I had someone very close to me that suffered from that. It is a disease. If they don't have something to worry about, they will invent it.

He’s not going anywhere. Imagine if Day at Ohio State gets fired and they offered Fran. I can hear him now, “If McCord isn’t good enough for you, neither am I”:)
If Boeheim turned down The Ohio State University, so can Fran.

Wait… you guys are serious? About Rutgers? Give me a break.

OSU
PSU
Michigan

Only ones I’d be concerned about.

It will all come down to financial support of the program. You get what you invest in. That’s what‘s worrying me about the basketball program. Attendance is down and will the budget match their needs?

We probably have to hold our breath when Ohio State and Michigan turn over.

Nah, not this year. Not because there wouldn't be interest from other teams, there just aren't any openings that would make sense for him. The best available jobs right now are UNC and Purdue. UNC maybe, if they were to back up the Brinks truck, but I haven't heard anything there, and I don't think it would be a good fit for him. Purdue is a lateral move, and I'm being very generous to them by describing it that way.

It's been one season folks. Nothing to look at here. Nixon? He is a name that could be circulated given his resume. Fran is not there...yet.

My only future concerns are Penn State, Rutgers and potentially Maryland.
Penn State, along with some of the top resource-rich SEC and Big10 schools, could be a threat. The other two northeast sad sacks you mentioned, I don’t think so. But I think we’re a few years away from having to worry about any of that. I think Fran wants to fully rebuild Cuse and get us to the playoffs (and maybe some titles!) first. Hopefully he never leaves! Right now I’m gonna enjoy the ride, as others have said.

So SU? What does that even mean? You make it sound like most SU fans are insecure. Speak for yourself.
Ever read this site. It’s alway the sky is falling, what if this, what if that.
The man said this is where he wants to be. He even gave a time line. What has he done to make you doubt his word? It’s an insult to Fran Brown to doubt his word.

Fran leaving really isn't the winning mentality he teaches, neither is worrying about it even if he will.

Anybody wants to preach how falling skies? That's your prerogative, but I hope Fran steals your soap. ;)

Probably not after one year, but if he keeps it up, he'll be offered a boat load of money by a bigger school. Maybe we get SUPER lucky and he not only meant it when he said he wanted to coach here for 10 years and then retire, but the massive sum of money waved in front of him also doesn't change his mind.

Either way, we can't be afraid of success. Hopefully if/when the time comes, JW is prepared with a massive pile of cash of his own.
I've said before SU will never compete in the coach arms race if he hit on a good one. Instead of lamenting that fact take the opportunity to make the Dome a lab for hotshot young innovative coaches. If they have enough success to get poached that's a good thing and find the next one. Eat sleep rave repeat.

I dunno... Maybe it's just me, but Fran from Camden doesn't seem like a natural fit for the squirrel-eating Pennsyltucky hills of Happy Valley.

Where though? Nothing really a good gig. In fact, a ton of dead jobs.

Purdue?
Who knows but he’s gotta be at a top of a lot of lists, wherever there will be openings

Like any job, you prove your worth and build a resume... It's his first year as head coach, so I'm thinking he will build it. He has done a great job in this one year. There is massive excitement, and we got some good talent hopefully that will be retained, as well as some great commits after Miami.

No, I don't think he is going anywhere, and if he did it would be because we were not treating him right. So if AD does that, and treats him less than some of the previous... I would be pretty much angry at the SU program not Fran at all if he decided to leave. But, I Don't think he is planning on it at all.

That this is being discussed annoys me...

Now there s something it will be really beneficial to sit around worrying about !!
