Absolutely agree with you. Teams can have uber talent, but its how that talent plays together as a cohesive unit. Did you see Joseph's reaction after the MCW steal, pass to Dion for a pass to James for the dunk? KJo didn't score a point but no worries, gotta love the team spirit. Great to see KJo contribute in other ways as well.

We probably will never get the respect Wisconsin does because we won't hold teams to 45 points a game. But that's obviously because we like to run while the Badgers like to pound the ball for 32 seconds every offensive possession.

But this is absolutely one of hte most dangerous defense's I have ever seen. 31 blocks+steals tonight, that's insane.

The defense is pretty amazing, but it is worth mentioning we came into the game 14th in the country in defensive efficiency. Though a game like that may vault them into the top 10.

17 steals and 15 blocks. Entered the day first in steals and second in block%. May move up to first and first after night.

Fab was off the charts tonight.

Also loved seeing Dion going crazy after Southerland's dunk. We were up like 22 with 6 minutes left, but Waiters still went insane.

It's nice to have emotional players like Melo and Waiters to counteract more of the melancholy players like Fair and Triche.

Obviously the main point of defense is to keep the other team from scoring, but there is something to be said for a defense that forces so many steals, and gets blocks as well, that ignites the offense on the other end.

I dont think you could make a bad matchup for big east ball out of our top 10 players keeping people at their real poitions.

You would have to put Scoop, MCW, Rak, Keita, and Southerland/Fair if you wanted to try and that team would still be a killer big east squad. Not Triche because he would bring to much offense with Southerland or Fair.

And thats not even mentioning Trevor Cooney.

We have four guys to take you off the dribble.
I have been saying three but MCW is starting to show hes ahead of Fair Southerland and Melo off the dribble.

A couple of things. I've never seen an SU team with so many players willing to take charges. I honestly don't ever recall one and it really starts with the big men. Both Fab and Baye take charges. Listened to Fab after the game being interviewed and he was asked specifically if he'd rather take a charge or block a shot...and his answer was very "un-american". "I'd rather take a charge, because its a turnover that guarantees we get the ball and a foul on their player."

Foreign big men look at the game differently than american-grown big men.

The scary part for all the other teams in america should be that we're still young and getting better. You have MCW, Christmas, Freshmen Fab,Fair,Waiters,Keita Sophs Southerland Jr but didn't play much as a Fr Triche jr, only 2 seniors and they both are starting to get it. This team is starting to undertstand defense will steal games you should lose. Think of this we still haven't played a complete 40 min game where defense and offense were great.
