Those last 2 things, aren't remotely the same as the first 2.

Cases are "down" - having returned to the PEAK LEVELS from last Summer.

Duke is already 3 practices in, with the showcase on April 4th.

Duke always starts Spring practice early compared to the other schools in the conference

Another thing to keep in mind is that the primary goal of winter conditioning is often strength and size which can be interfered with by practice type conditions.

Since this period was basically completely skipped last year, they may be trying to maximize the amount of time they can dedicate to pure S&C this year before the integration of practice (which will slow some progress of the strength and size components)

That makes sense. He was just to light coming in to stay at de. Interested in seeing his speed on the field though and how that translates to his new position. He could be a fun one to watch.
