Why? He's gone, and it's not like he's ever going to play in the NBA.

His grandfather was not a good poster, and probably reflected how Judah saw himself as more important than the team. Remember that early season post, 'Imagine if Judah was on a talented team!'? I sure do.

Are you also against criticizing DeShaun Williams or Louie McCrosky?

Yeah, I feel MUCH more for a guy like Jaquan Carlos than I do for Mintz. Carlos has handled himself well, appears to be a team guy, and is trying his best. He just isn't very good at this level. I'm much more supportive of a person like that than a spoiled "me" kinda person who wants to blame others for their own short comings.

Sure. But thats kind of the point. If people are comparing two players, shouldn't we factor in defense? Its kind of important. And JJs defense is, well, bad.

I think a pretty decent comparison for JJ Starling is Tyus Battle. Big 2 guard, decent 3 point shooter, good on the drive and in the midrange, ball dominant. Likes to take the big shot. Battle was a better defender, but I think Starling's effort is pretty good this year.

Yeah, and Mintz took way too many gambles. So whether it was because he wouldn’t get back on defense or because he went for a steal he had no chance of getting, he was frequently out of position.

I'd pick JJ for one reason only, his mid range game from 6-12 feet. I think that is SU's best scoring option at this point. And I'll take that over Judah shooting free throws after he gets fouled. But Judah shot A LOT of free throws and he made them. Undervalued in that regard in my opinion.

I dont believe i have seen anyone claim Mintz was a great defender. All im saying is if we are comparing players people should take into consideration both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball when doing so. There has been some discussion comparing their offensive games, but there should also be a discussion comparing their defensive games.
