Start a True Freshman QB...

I think it goes back to the Liberty game last year when he was throwing the ball away on such an instance and he got picked. (if i'm remembering right) I was at that game and that was the angle I had.
He wasn't throwing it away. He saw a guy open and a defender that was on the ground popped up. If he was trying to throw it away and threw a pic, he did a poor job of throwing it away. In that case, the correction isn't to not throw away anymore, it's to put it into the stands. It's not like he has to put it close to a reciever when he's on the sideline.

thev body isn’t even cold Thanks for the concern !
This is how it goes on sports message boards. You have a personal/emotional stake in your child, and that is expected. Of course nobody wants anything bad for him, but fans will look at him and the team through a different lense than you. I don't know who you rooted for through the years, but did you discuss players with friends the way you expect us to discuss or refrain from discussing your son?

He got hurt and the only thing to do is wish him a full and quick recovery. The fans will calm down. No way we win giving up 380 on the ground no matter how many TO's we get. IMO Tommy was the least of our issues today. Hopefully he can get healed up before season's end. He has showed all of us that, when he has time, he can get it done ... like the cross-field bullets he was throwing late in the game, the swing pass to Benson and that 80 yarder to Taj that was right in the basket.

Wasn't that the clemson game?

We absolutely had a chance to win this game despite giving up the yardage. The TOs negated much of it, had the WRs caught the ball and the offense capitalized on the TOs.

Maybe. I could be confusing them. If that's the case and he got picked attempting to throw it away, the second part of my post still stands.

If memory serves, the only QB in recent memory to not miss a game due to injury was Ryan Nassib. He had a good line.

Hunt, Dungey, AJ and now TD.

Is it any surprise that the most sacked QB in CFB gets significantly injured?

I would definitely give Markiewicz a series or two next week and see what he can do. I'm writing off this season.
Wait until the next 2 weeks, Liberty at home we might win with a solid running game. The next game at Clemson, you don't put a freshman in that type of situation.

Yup, but liberty will give us a game, staff needs to win that and get for 1-2 more, hes the only of the 3 freshman backups who had anything close to a real offer his was from boise, culpepper is a senior and isn't it, they took 3 guys who no other P5 wanted and only 2/3 had a G5 offer and they only got one each, better see what they have, I'm afraid it isn't much

I don't think Chunky McSoup missed any games.

Or meals either.

Liberty can beat us, they are trying to build something, they have 3 ACC opponents with us being the worst one, I'd give them as good a chance to beat us as we do against wake

he should have missed multiple games in 96, dislocated both shoulders, the week before the vt game he was wrapped like a mummy

We avoided the death spiral until early 3d quarter when they went up 2 scores. At that point, they knew we couldn't stop them on the ground; they knew we couldn't run against their loaded box; and they knew we had to pass. So they tightened their man coverage and unleashed their DL. Tommy's time to throw got shorter and shorter. Even when he had a couple seconds, our WR's either couldn't get separation or couldn't finish. We racked up a bunch of 3/outs, and the rout was on (670 yards). The root of the problem is that their lines dominated ours on both sides of the ball. Our OL has injury issues galore. We're also banged up at the LB and safety level. Regardless, if we can't pass, can't run and can't stop the run - we're in for a long season. Chalk it up to Covid - my main concern now is holding our 21 class together (it looks really good).

I thought that was '97 when we lost at Virginia Tech. We killed them in '96.

He is in good spirits he knows it was a free year .im so proud how he came back out in a boot in pain to support his boys . For the folks he don’t think he is a leader I’ve been told by coaches he’s Loved by all . Thank you crusty I appreciate you asking
Yes but is it better to be loved, or feared? I kid. Glad to hear his spirits are up.

good! Was awesome to see that.

cutcliffe said that first throw for the TD was unlike any pass he’d ever seen - and he’s seen some guys lol

I'm glad he's in high spirits, looking forward to watching him play again. Hopefully the staff prepares the team well and everything comes together next year.
