Stay classy, CMU...

He probably said it because he was getting tired of Hunt running up and down the field on them.

From the CMU board:

"This is year 5 of the Enos era and we should be winning games against teams of the caliber of Syracuse."

HA.

Is that Big Enos, or Little Enos?

CBS showed the score of the game and one of the analysts quipped "Hunt didn't punch anyone, did he?"

I was just surprised the premiere analysts doing the highlights before the UGA/South Carolina game knew about that.

If Hunt keeps playing like this, they'll know him for more than the punch.

Hunt did take a little swipe at a guy after an offsides play so I'm still not thrilled with his temper yet. Never let them see you sweat and now that he has teams will now go after him a bit after the whistle to get a rise.

I saw this altercation - there was another penalty on the play- holding? that drew attention, but Hunt gave him a shove and came close to throwing a punch. If he gets ejected twice I'm sure the ACC will have to step in. He gets fired up in there and needs to keep his temper under control.

I didn't notice that. I must admit it worries me a little. We can't afford for him to be thrown out of any more games, or worse, suspended for several.

Considering it's cbs, who might be the only network that sniffs the SEC's jock more than espn, I wish hunt would punch that analyst

They were missing their two best offensive players. That absolutely contributed to the final score being what it was.

Also that comment is exactly what was said here after the GT game a year ago. Except the narrative was "5 years since Marrone started to right the ship"

Fans are always delusional and blind in the support of their own team. It's what they do (and don't anyone even try and pretend this place isn't the same way)

Didn't see that, but how do you come close to throwing a punch? You either do or you don't.

Since Enos got the head coach job, they're 21-31. And that's mostly playing against MAC teams.

Hunt's loss of control has put him in a position where he will be reminded of what he did every time he steps on to the field. Simply put, he needs to deal with it better. He can't make similar mistakes. I was not happy to see him swiping at another player the game after he got tossed for being an idiot. That's not leadership. That's not even followership. That's being an immature moron.

That was the dark spot on an otherwise fantastic game for him. I really don't want to dwell on the negative because overall he really played well, but the fact that he couldn't make it through one game that we were winning handily without nearly losing his cool again is not encouraging.

It was a swipe/jabby kind of thing. At this point, it won't be surprising if Hunt does anything after the whistle with an opposing player other than help them up or give them a pat on the tail pad and he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt. He's got to keep his hands to his side.

surprised that folks still talk about hunt incident that detracts from team performance . the issues were never about hunt---rather about preparation on defense and LEARNING the way through the offense. hunt looked OK, not great--barely passable for the top 5 of the acc

Was there supposed to be a "in 2007" at the end of that quote?

Add in their 2 missing players and they still lose by at least 23.

Is Doug Gottlieb working football now?

Loss of control? The kid nearly took a cheap shot on him and did hit him on a dead play. Hunt wen to walk away and the kid got In his face. Hunt has every right to stand up for himself in that situation because, clearly, the refs didn't care. There was no swipe other than Hunt putting his facemask on the other kid and saying something. Probably the exchange discussed above. Sounds like you have a case of confirmation bias.
