Let me preface this by saying there is no excuse to end the season the way we did. This is P4 football and one injury can’t be allowed to derail a season. With that being said, I still project 8 wins or better next year. The biggest thing is ERob, he has to go. His schemes are awful and he can’t be allowed to be the D-coordinator. If he wants to stay on staff in some capacity for recruiting I am all for that. I expect big portal moves and we have some young dudes coming in. We will be alright.

I still think the football program is in a better spot than basketball. I know many won’t agree after the last two months, but I’ll go out on a limb and say we string together a decent run here the next couple of years.

All Syracuse sports (the ones that matter) are in complete shambles. Probably the worst combined performance from basketball and football in the history of the school.

I’m fine with Nixon, he has some equity in my book based off last season and games with Angeli this year. I don’t anticipate E-Rob on the staff but if he is it certainly lowers our ceiling. Still think we go bowling. Nixon’s offense won us 10 games last year with a good QB and a weak defense.

Agreed. Way more concerned with basketball. Good thing is in this day and age things can be turned around rather quickly. Expect Fran to right the ship. I think basketball is screwed until Autry is gone.

No offense but, What makes you think Fran thought it’s unacceptable? He stands there on the sideline befuddled while his coordinators make us the laughing stock of college football.

Fran gets the brunt of the blame for the nonsense we see on offense and defense. I really think he has no idea how to do anything but recruit.
 
I agree. I wouldn’t say “optimistic” necessarily, but I do think next year is likely to be much better. 8+ wins better.

Obviously that’s dependent on canning several staff members, using the portal effectively to plug holes, and most importantly, find a viable backup to Angeli.

We stunk before Fran got here and he was able to bring in guys. You have the best class we have had in decades coming next year. They saw the results this year and are still committed. Russell, Gough, Wilson, etc...

Recruiting will never be an issue with Fran. It is the in game stuff he has to get better at.

Some of you just wanted to fire coaches left and right.
Fran did not give up and he hates losing.
We will be MUCH better going forward.
I'm sure he will look at EVERYTHING this team is doing and how the staff is.
He will make the tough choices and do what is right for the S.

It is so easy to be negative when both football and basketball are struggling. When the weather gets crappy up here in Northern New York, I at least had Cuse sports to look forward to. It has been a struggle the past decade and it eats at us all. I believe Fran is the right guy for this job and will fix this.

Oh 100%, I was so pissed during the 2018 season anytime the team started to play bad and honestly was we need to win or I'm done most of the season.
This season STINGS but we have hope, which we have not had in awhile.
Basketball honestly I gave up a few years ago as it was just to upsetting to watch.
Lacrosse brings me some comfort, SOME.
 
I don’t even think 8-wins next year is an optimistic take. With the recruits and the frosh and Fran’s portal ability I think that is just our expected value.

More wins or fewer wins probably depends on some hard decisions that’ve yet to pass.
 
hey i'm not calling for fran brown to be fired. i am calling for fran to wake the eflf up. you need a major reset brother . start with staff. let go of your homeys and hire some heavy hitters. second game planning. you're young so you don't even know how much you don't know. and we don't have the talent to get out coached. you got to pick up your own knowledge . third talent. stop worrying about "student athletes " and get us some damn 1st round draft picks. if that's not your style...well then yes i am asking for fran brown to be fired. this season was unacceptable.
