SU football plays where you would love a do-over

What are some individual plays in SU football history where you would love a do-over if given the opportunity? Caution: this thread may be too depressing for some to participate in.

1993 Texas: Pat O'Neill missed a 33 yard field goal with 10 seconds left which would have won the game. We were ranked #6 at the time.

1994 Oklahoma: after we scored the Mason-t0-Harrison go-ahead touchdown late in the 4th quarter (the loudest I've ever heard the Dome), we got a 15-yard celebration penalty. That was the difference in getting OU in field goal range to win the game.

1997 NC State: this one is a case of 20/20 hindsight, but I wish we could have given the ball to Rob Konrad instead of Dee Brown from the 2 yard line.

1998 Tennessee: everyone remembers the pass interference call, but one play that killed us was 3rd and long, Tee Martin scampered for about 50 yards and then I believe Phil Nash hit him out of bounds late for an additional 15. We get that stop and we probably win and Tennessee doesn't win the national title.

1999 Michigan: Troy Nunes doesn't run backwards for 20 yards for that safety, we probably win vs. #5 Michigan.

2009 Minnesota: Greg Paulus just throws the ball away instead of trying to thread the needle with his OT interception.

2012 Northwestern: On NW's last drive, that questionable late hit penalty on us. Just don't put the referee in a position to make that call.

That 2012 year they lost to Rutgers by 8 and one of the scores was a blocked FG return for TD. That one sucked big time.

2009 Minnesota: Greg Paulus just throws the ball away instead of trying to thread the needle with his OT interception.

It also would've helped if Marrone could have had the offense on the field in time so they didn't have to wildly snap the ball with one second on the play clock, leading to a turnover which resulted in a Minnesota touchdown two plays later.

2nd to last possession, I believe, trailing 16 - 10, down near the Miami 20. Graves was hit by Sapp as he threw, the ball popped up, Marley intercepted. Graves was throwing to Gedney in the end zone, who was open.

Penn State is not given the penalty on the two point PAT while trailing 14-13 with little time remaining in Archbold - 1969.

The Orange was 3-1 and Penn State 4-0 at the time.

We led 14-0 heading into the 4th Quarter and lost the game when the Lions were given two or maybe three chances to get the two point PAT on their second TD.

I have always believed that that loss was the end of the Ben Schwartzwalder era.

It still hurts after nearly 50 years.

The Tennessee loss - ugh.

Wasn't the Tennessee game the one where we got called for the mysterious "socks" penalty (which I have never seen called before or since)?

And I agree with javadoc about the '92 Miami game, which ended when Graves threw a 29 yd. completion to Chris Gedney, who was tackled on the 3 yard line as time expired (preserving a Cane 16-10 win). As one football writer stated;" Gedney was left pounding the artificial turf in frustration as the orange-clad fans in the sellout crowd of 49,857 stood stunned."

My memory is going but it involved a goal line handoff for the win to a true Freshman who ended up fumbling. No idea why P inserted the kid in that situation. Kid went on to have a stellar career at RB. Help me out here.

Dee Brown vs NC State 1997. We only needed a FG to win.

Fumble resulted in OT, and Tory Holt beat us on a 2 point conversion.

That was Brown's only career fumble.

Boy, was THAT day alot of fun all around. Remember the last minute controversy about the gametime status of their starting qb? My first introduction to corn hole. They must have brought 10k fans and they were alot of fun!

Late in game, SU down by 7.

4th and 3 from the BC 24. Attempted a 41 yard FG with a kid who hadn't made a kick longer than 30 yards all season long.

Would have preferred to run another play, since we needed at least 7 to tie.

BC took over possession, and ran almost the entire clock out.

I think Alec Lemon dropped a pass that hit him right in the hands in the end zone, playing against Louisville at the Dome. Think that score would have won the game. Could be wrong about the player or the score

2015 was a season seemingly full of those. The fake punt against Pitt stands out in my mind big time. We stop that, we win that game. The late hit against Virginia that got them in position to score. Hell, even the Stanizek hit against CMU is a play I'd love to take back.
