SU Human Resource Complaint Towards Heather Lyke

We have to remember that Syracuse already hired her and she had been around a year making a mess. I’m quite sure she has some dirt on us that we don’t need out there if we throw her under the bus.

Best to just get rid of her quietly and send her down to some midmajor program or something to shut her up.

Unfortunate that the writers of the article didn’t see through the charade more but Im sure they had a relationship with her last year for stories and it’s likely they know she’s not getting the job so this is them saying whatever. Throw her a puff piece and no one will hear from her again.
I wouldn’t say it’s a puff piece. They pointed out the big issues with her, but it certainly could have been harder hitting.

Haynie has to know if he hired her there will be a slew of national newspaper articles exposing the damage she did at Pitt and discussing the HR complaint against her at Cuse. It also would not be favorable to Kent. Mike would not be starting out in a positive way.

I think there’s three possibilities:
1). This was a puff piece to try to mitigate some of the damage of the DO article and help in her efforts in finding future employment.
2). This was a trial balloon to see just how bad the damage is, and if hiring her is still viable. Fairly clear at this point it is not, and Syracuse will dodge a bullet.
3). The decision was already made to hire her, this was to try to set her up for success and they are going full steam ahead in spite of how poorly the article landed.

I think #1 is most likely by a lot, #2 is a slight possibility - and if it ends up being #3 it’ll prove Syracuse is even more dysfunctional than I thought.

Is this tweet below the Grayson Allen joke anything to be concerned about? It’s from the News Director at CNY Central, and he seems to indicate that he thinks they will hire Lyke. Is he just spouting crap?
nooo GIF

Lol. I assume this News Director guy isn’t as plugged in as other local reporters. At least let’s hope that’s the case. But clearly, from the evidence, the idea was to bring Lyke in to be Wildhack’s successor as AD or at least have a shot at the job, which is an insane decision, as others here have pointed out. WTH Kent!

Don't forget bringing her in allegedly was orchestrated by her law school classmate who is Kent's Chief of Staff. Maybe that person has a bone to pick with JW and this was a way to undermine him.

Lykes .com article is a bad sign… nothing like doing PR about the position after you’ve been supposedly told you don’t have it… so you draw the conclusion you’d like from Syracuse letting her go to the media to publicly campaign for the job…

I think we’re in trouble folks

Completely disagree. They did an article on Nick as well. Lyke got decimated in a an article that went national. Kent and Candace are helping out Lyke and Lyke was at the game showing she won't hide.
Again multiple board insiders, Carlson and Waters are strongly intimating that Nick is the selection.
It should not be surprising after Lyke had all the negative publicity, that she would run an aggressive campaign to counter that. By the way Kent's letter was just something she can use for her next interview.
