SU vs UAlbany (70-73): Wed Nov 20, 7 PM

Disappointed Kevin Sorbo GIF

What were they doing not holding for the last shot? Coming out of a time-out no less. Horrendous coaching.
Our first 4 ACC games: Notre Dame, North Carolina State, North Carolina, and Duke. This team is looking at 0-4 to start their ACC schedule. Our defense is really bad. In player to player defense, we are way too slow on the perimeter, can't keep players in front of us, and we are allowing too many open shooters. Even with a significant height advantage, we are unable to dominate teams. When we face teams that have more size than we have, plus perimeter quickness, I just don't see pathways to victory.

I have to say I am embarrassed by this.
One of the things that Syracuse teams have had in the past is athletic, fast perimeter players. The lack of speed on this team is frightening. We are really going to struggle in the ACC, where we will face bigger, quicker, and more athletic teams. Yes, this was embarrassing, but we better get used to it because the quality of play this year, has been really bad.

I understand that FLJ believes she needs more NIL money to compete for top-flight players. However, you shouldn't need any more players than the ones she has on the roster to beat St. Joe's. AND NOW ALBANY.

Fearful that this may be a very sub-par season.

And now the comments about nobody cares... lord have mercy. About to get ugly.

Camp, Velez and McNabb don’t add much to the guard capabilities.
There is a huge difference between these 3 players. Camp is supposed to be the experienced, although just coming off her ACL recovery, player. Velez, a newcomer transfer, and Lexi is really a practice player at this point, but also Lexi is a glue of the team. She holds the players together off the court. I have seen her in action last Thanksgiving. She is very respected by the players, and she has an important role that way. I see her going right into coaching. Velez will come along. I think Camp will also. She is just post recovery. Many take even more time that she has. The surprise has been Schmitt. Big surprise.

You play great defense with 40 seconds left and get the rebound, Schmidt makes an absolutely horrendous turnover. You then get another chance to take the final shot and Wolley goes brain dead and commits a horrible charge with 11 seconds left on the shot clock. What were they thinking? This team is going to really struggle in the ACC. They lack quickness all over the court.
Overall Schmitt has been a pleasant surprise, but she made a huge freshman mistake there. She had the most energy on the floor all night though, and was often part of bringing us back in the game. Don't forget her steal and score. Bad freshman mistake though, but they all make them. That moment got to her.

Wow. Not a good look Felisha. We have supported the women's team for several years, attending 7-8 games annually. Between football, men's & women's basketball, men's & women's soccer, men's & women's lacrosse, I feel I should have a dorm room at SU.

Felisha, please don't worry about the fan base not showing up. Instead, focus on the fact that your team has not shown up yet this season. Your team has more turnovers than assists and the defense may be at an all-time low. Today's, loss & the poor play is on you.

I hold Felisha in high regard and will give her a pass. But I can guarantee coaches that I also hold in high regard like Ian McIntyre would not come after his teams fan base.

Ouch I can certainly understand Coach Jack’s frustration but this really shocked me and I hope all is okay. Sad and really surprised at her reaction. Players play for each other, their coaches and most importantly for themselves and their personal sense of pride - I hope not just the fans. Players I know want to win whether it’s a pickup game with no fans or it’s a packed crowd. I have always supported the program, directed money to NIL and will continue to. Just hoping all is ok with Coach, she’s so passionate and cares so much that she can address and improve the team’s direction.

I understand FLJ's frustration and NIL deficits are certainly a complicating factor but based solely on her history I think it is not unreasonable to question whether she is better suited to lower-level D1 programs...As discussed in previous posts, the program really needed to bring in some dynamic players this year to build on the Dyaisha momentum.

"Why aren't more people coming to watch us lose to Albany?" is a rough complaint to level.

Always hated when coaches come after fans for not showing up. It’s hard and expensive to come to games. She had 2,000 fans there last night (likely less with seasons included) but that’s not nothing. While I understand her frustration don’t think the message is right.

"Women's basketball is dead."

Um, what? Is this real life? You know what brings out fans? Winning. Consistent winning.

I live in Bloomington, Indiana and have been to many women's games at IU. They're consistently good every year and they pack Assembly Hall every game. Sometimes sell it out (18k+). Bloomington is a small town of less than 80k people. They attract people by being really good. Every year.

What a disappointing public take by Coach.

I don't really deeply follow the team but did Keira Scott really have a (+/-) of minus seven in only four minutes?

That's no bueno
