Summer Sessions 2025

Why are we getting these encouraging basketball highlights when we could watch three new players seeming kinda stoned on a podcast talking about how they plan to miss a lot of classes...
To be fair, that player is still on our team and might be our best player lol.

from what i hear this is the best personality - morale team in a few years. it’s refreshing to know we are together

confident it can shape to something on the court too!
Hope they have killer instinct and are scrappy

something like that...referring to the since deleted podcast where three of last year's players talked about ten-month plans and skipping classes.
I just laugh thinking about Eddie Lampkin being at his BBQ joint testing out sauces, Carlos prob getting shut down in practice by our walkons and then Chris Bell trying to act all philosophical and enlightened about his game like he was freaking Plato or Socrates or something. Was all just smoke and mirrors. I do still blame the coaches and some of the local media for that.

Nothing really matters except what happens on the court in games but at least these guys are on the court together and look more athletic.

I think this is why it was important to drop everyone else. On paper we could've lived with Petar and Choppa and Cuffe and said ok they "could" help way down the bench but the reality is that from a morale and culture perspective if you want a refresh you really have to clean house.

Having 2 players back compared to 5 sends a message. Syracuse is no longer a place where even the bench is a group of misfits that were brought in to be what ifs.

I thought Cuffe, Petar and Choppa all played hard and hustled. Choppa has the most upside to be a ACC starter, we will see how he does at Utah. They would all be good bench pieces but the issue is they would not be starters next year. Like that we have bench guys who would assume starting roles next year and be potential NBA players down the road.

Program is a term of the past in major college sports as now more than ever it’s pseudo franchises especially at the P4 plus BE level. With that said to be successful you at minimum have to build your roster this way year in year out whether you buy new additions or re negotiate the top talent with eligibility to come back.

Winning still must be a key currency in that equation as well….

Good point on program as it’s year to year but seems the teams that do well return 3-6 players or core guys. Like that we return 2 starters this year and maybe 3 next year, consistency helps.

I can’t recall. I’m excited about this team. Going to be a lot of fun to watch! Also, Sadiq looking very comfortable with his 3 pt stroke. Granted it’s practice and with no defenders. But if Sadiq has a 3 pt shooting game next season. He is probably one and done.
I agree whole heartedly. If White is consistently hitting the open three,he is going to be extremely hard to keep off the floor, and could turn out to be among our most important players.

White's recruiting video has him making the corner three. Of course, they never show misses in highlight videos...

For his high school team, White seems to hang around the left corner and wait for open three point shots, or the ball for a hard checkout so he can drive, or a cut to the basket for dunks or alley oops.

He must make that corner three enough (or scouting is bad enough, always a possibility) that he gets a lot of chances to pump fake and drive from that corner.

I still think he'll be a bit skinny to be a high draft pick after his freshman year, though.

Griff always with some interesting tidbits. I definitely pickup on a guy who’s looking to maybe move on pretty quickly. I hope he does well with BA but it’s hard to envision him as a D1 head coach when listening to him talk about things.
