Syracuse football defensive tackle Steven Clark's career put in jeopardy by blood clots

Nope.

The great thing is, Steven feels comfortable enough, is entrenched at SU, and has obviously made a friends that will last a lifetime. Nobody will be able to take away that impressive SU degree.

So refreshing nowadays to see a young man who puts the student back in student-athlete. Cynicism about college athletics is at an all time high and scandals about fake classes and academic impropriety dominate. Here is a kid who at the very least showed borderline pro football abilities who recognizes the opportunity he has been given and values the educational experience that he has at his disposal. Terribly disappointed we won't see Steven on the field again but so refreshing to see the maturity he is showing through this challenge. Clearly he was raised right. You should be very proud, Cubs.
I am. Just bummed and PISSED that he didn't get to finish out the way he wanted.

Could Steve recruit his home region for SU? A few good recruits from there would be a big jump for the Orange.

There aren't that many players in the immediate area (Guntersville, Arab, Boaz, Douglas) worth a damn. Those that are have SEC offers and ACC offers which are MUCH closer to home. They probably wouldn't budge.

Haven't followed this too closely in off-season but finally caught up. Just want to commend bcubs on raising an impressive young man and prioritizing the right things.

If Steven ever needs help post graduation, he has a big SU family that will always be there for him.

Just a quick update; still no answer from either Tucker or DiFino as to why Steven was taken off Xarelto in April by DiFino...
Out of curiosity, was that a documented request for information?

I know you said you won't sue or make a bigger deal out of this but when a wrong is done and the wrongdoer goes unpunished that is also a wrong.

Tucker is hiding/shirking from his responsibilities and can arbitrarily relieve himself of all responsibilities or answer any more questions in this matter by simply DQ'ing Steven - even when he made a decision by taking Steven off of Xarelto he is now not required to answer for fear of a lawsuit from you stemming from a wrong diagnosis - so his solution is a DQ.

I'm cannot say anything more than this - this situation is way far less to do with SU and far more to do with Tucker himself. Tucker needs to go - and quick - he's an amateur at best (FADMC's words not mine). Nuff said on my part.

My money's on getting no answer at all from Tucker or DiFino.
He's entitled to a response of course, but he might actually get one if a registered letter found its way to the Doctor's in-box. The response may not be worth a damn, but it might be worth a try.

The nutrition thing drives me crazy. It's not like SU doesn't have a school of Nutrition Science and Dietetics.

Just catching up on this thread now -- but a much bigger change than just a change in the way the athletic department handles nutrition is coming. I think people are going to be very happy about the program.

I hope you're right

I'm in "wait and see" mode. And Tucker "retiring" had better be a part of that change...

I didn't hear anything about the team doctors, didn't ask to be honest with you.

Man, let's hope so.

I'm assuming you can't be specific (I'm pretty clever like that). Can you speak more generally about the much bigger change?

Not that I can't be specific. I just know the program that they plan on implementing will address nutrition, mental health, and time and stress management, in addition to the normal physical training that athletes receive. I just don't have exact details.

why wouldnt he have been seeing blood clot specialists the entire time.
