Syracuse Football fined $25k by the ACC

Fight this tooth and nail. Throw every administrative hurdle and protest. Make them go blind on paperwork. Exhaust every appeal. Insist on signing the check in person. Have flight problems and scheduling conflicts that span into 2029. Finally show up without a pen. Printer jams. Out of check stock. Out of ink. Bank won't pay check in dollars, check is drawn on account denominated in Euros. 2nd issue - account now closed ..until the bitter end...
We got burned by the NCAA for rolling over in the past. You need to fight back in todays world. I agree. There is nothing definitive in this that we can't argue against.

A. We’re guilty. School already said we’re paying.

B. We’ve never really been welcome in the ACC. Never will be. We needed to be in a power conference, they needed to grow, it is what it is.

They took a dive. Its clear on the film they took a dive.

Just fix the rule with at least one tweak.. You come out for injury that stops the clock you are out for the series. You need to go to the tent and get looked at.

Imagine we had the old rule where you had to stay out for the half.
We have had many a teams do this against us. I don't like it. I would say a rules change to prohibit would be a better way to go about it. Change the rules to that player is done for the series or at least a few plays. I didn't remember anything looking blatant during the game, but i'm sure replay may show otherwise with how they went down. I remember wondering if that play in question was a faking injury situation but then also thinking, hey that is going to stop the clock and help Clemson there, not sure we want to do that.

When does Boeheim lose some more wins over this?
Serious question what if we prove the kids where really hurt and then prove the ACC is forcing players to stay in the game and it causes more issues.
Big old bag of worms tobacco road is opening up.
At this point I hope the conference crashes and burns. They have always been against us and we where only invited to be the "easy" win.
If I where SU I would send in EVERY tape of EVERY ACC team doing this stuff this year and not stop until I had real answers.

What prove do they have of the coach setting it up. Is there video of them telling players to go down but was the player limping off the field. We should have real answer and real proof for this.

Yep that is the way to stop it. Oh you went down with injury, see you next series.
I know that is still a mess but $25k is not going to stop anyone plus I doubt the ACC does anything more unless Clemson cries again.

Clemson did this to us constantly when we were a tempo team under Babers.

It’s all good.

(It’s possible I missed this - but did the overly nice Clemson fans come to board this week after our win? They were always so classy after they killed us.)
Yes we did have one on and he was really nice
He said nothing about faking injuries

Was there a rule once that said you had to stay out the entire half?

Yeah, even though it might appear to be obvious, not sure how the ACC can start doing this because there's no true way of knowing. Now, when Lane Kiffin was captured telling his player to fake an injury, that might be a different story.

I pray ‘Cuse can extend Fran! Keep winning and maybe we get to the Big 10 where we should have been all along!

Apparently they have evidence of a Syracuse coach doing something similar.

We and every other school does this. We all know why we were fined, and the piddling amount tells you other schools are doing it. Only way it stops is make real and faux injured players sit out a series.

couldn't care less. Clemson is big mad they lost. The ACC is trying to make a statement because a bunch of people watched the banner bearer get embarrassed,

I would not pay.
This is a direct attack on Fran as the head coach. They are calling Fran a cheater.
If we do not fight this why would Fran want to stay with us. No one wants to work for an employer that does not fight for them.
If the university does not fight for Fran he will not be here long term.

I get it, but thing is, relative to the scale of the program and the school, this is, basically, a parking ticket.

If I park downtown on S Salina when I'm dropping company checks off at Chase bank, 'forget' to pay the meter and my employer covers the $45 I'd be happy with that resolution. I don't think this is serious enough that they need to publicly denounce it, personally.

Come on AO…

All of the conferences are trying to get rid of the faking of injuries. We aren't very good at it. It appears to be how they're coached. We rolled Clemson. Pay the $25K and move on.

The good news is people are watching Syracuse football and paying attention to our players again.

This is especially BS in the light of Clemson not wanting to admit they were thoroughly a-whipped Saturday, Also the media has almost totally focused on Clemson's shortcomings, not Syracuse's near total dominance. Reminds me of a friend who I played chess with at lunch a while ago. When he won, it was his brilliance - when I won it was always because of a "blunder" on his part. Clemson's two previous losses were close games to ranked teams. 5.5 home underdogs to Duke is another example of no respect for the Orange.

I think you could be right IF Fran was adamant about it. I'm sure there were discussions about this and people are aligned. It would probably do more harm than good to fight it.
