Could you imagine how insufferable all of you would be if they didn’t get him? You guys are already brutal when the team is struggling 3 games in as an undefeated team. melo will do a ton for the program and Kiyan is getting better and better. This is the best class Cuse has had in 20 years and it will help 2026 bc kids will want to play with Kiyan. But his impact nationwide and on social media will be something we haven’t seen in a while

I want him, but come on, he isn't a savior. He's a 4 star guy who I hope comes in and average 12 points a game, which would probably be more than 80% of the freshman than come in.

I hope all these guys come, I do, but freshman aren't enough, we've seen it over and over and over the past few years.

Perhaps I am wrong, but If bronny didn’t save USC, I’m not sure Kiyan is going to save Syracuse. That seems like way to high of expectations for a kid

I think Red survives because of the recruiting class (assuming this is going to be mediocre). But his status will certainly be discussed internally more than was anticipated I would imagine.

That being said, while hitting HS recruits is great, we need to do hit the portal more effectively -- this is where you get more immediate dividends.

Freshman are freshman. They will struggle, even if they put up "numbers" - just natural to have some awareness issues as a frosh that don't come up in the boxscore.

The bigger issue now if they are good -- they can leave to the NBA or outright to another team. You might not have them by the time they figure it out.

That being said still happy to have our freshman class.

Not sure why you are comparing Kiyan with Bronny. Did Lebron say he was going to be involved and help USC basketball?

College basketball was a stepping stone for Bronny that was required to get to the NBA to play with his dad. I really don't see any similarities between Bronny and Kiyan's paths.

We have several good offensive players that are ACC quality for sure - JJ, Bell, Freeman, Lampkin. But that 5th spot...is wide open right now.

The defense has been non-existent. The coaches have a big challenge on their hands.

All i am saying is that keeping red because of Kiyan seems very short sighted. If you get amazing players but you can’t coach them, you’re not going to keep getting good players. Coaches will start to recruit against you, it’s exactly what happened to Payne

This isn’t about 3 games. If you can’t see the writing on the wall, you are living in denial.

This is just like in the past with football when people close to the staff felt compelled to defend them. It’s cool, it’s loyalty, that’s an admirable trait.

It just doesn’t mean they’re seeing things clearly. I’m the same way about JW, I just admit it.
