Syracuse just signed an athlete from Alabama

my God I love this kid already. What a great presence and other directedness and class he shows at a young age. Props to his parents likely. Perfect kid for Shafers philosophy of good citizenship first, good football next. In watching his video again I can see why 50 offer finally came his way, and again how such a talented kid fell through the cracks in the south of all places blows my mind.

Good for us. Welcome aboard young man.

What, how in the hell does a kid like this fall between the cracks. Way too dynamic, even with the awarkward throwing motion kid has a rocket arm, crazy athletic, something doesn't sniff right on this. Academics? Even if qb doesn't pan out for the usual reasons he's athletic enough to play other positions.

Obvious good sign that we beat out Michigan (again though I'm not sure I believe that either), this is one of those that I'll believe this one when I see him in Orange (err, grey, err white, err blue or whatever we're going to be in next year)
He has stellar grades. Its NOT academics..this is exactly the same situation as stephen clark. RURAL area that gets no love from recruiting "gurus".

From what I could tell on the recruiting board, he asked to sign his LOI during his visit. He supposedly had one scheduled at Michigan but cancelled. We may have been the only school offering him a shot at QB.

How many touchdown passes next year? Any chance he outperforms Mariota's 2014 season?

It's such a cliche and everyone says it about virtually every recruit now, but I have a great feeling about this kid. Hopefully he doesn't get homesick or something and sticks around 4 years.

That's uncalled for.

when GO96 is excited and optomistic about a kid(as I read on the recruiting board), I think that speaks volumes as to how huge a get this kid is (obviously potentially) and in turn we should all be happy. Still pinching myself on the circumstances but whatever, theres a line about not looking a gift horse in the mouth that comes to mind.....so gonna shut my yap and practice this:

According to TOS, he had an offer from Arizona. If he's good enough for RRod, that's good enough for me.

BTW, Luverne is located about halfway between Montgomery, AL and Destin, FL in the panhandle...

We need to keep this kid happy...anyone sell these in CNY?

Shafer confirmed that Syracuse has one scholarship left for the 2015-16 academic year. Looking for best guy available, versatility a plus.
Hmmmm... Sounds like someone is not going to qualify.

Boiled Peanuts in LA (Lower Alabama) are revered like Hofmann Coneys are in CNY.
The first time I recall learning of the existence of this... interesting... foodstuff, was back in about 1997 when I first moved to Atlanta. Driving up US-19 to hike in the north Georgia mountains, nearing Dahlonega, there was a very large, crude, hand-painted sign that read "Boiled P-Nuts". Had to look it up when I got back. I have not tried them to this day.

I lived in Georgia for 11 years and never tried them. I'm not a grits fan either.

Either that or Dawson isn't coming.

That would be my guess. Stinks for the guy and hope he can figure out a way to go to college for free. Maybe SU has scholarships available for managers? I know basketball teams do at certain schools.
