When Marlowe is right, he might be the most impactful of any of our Big 4 linebackers. We have missed having him 100% recently.

Not sure Garrett W was 100% when he came back for BC. Hope he is there after this off week. Simmons gives us the speed and athletic ability we could really use against the guys UL has at WR. They can't catch it well but they certainly can run with it.

Hoping Carter gets up to 100% too after the off week. He appears to have been playing hurt since he returned and I don't think he has been all systems go either. Would love to see Cole back as well. UL will surely use a lot of WRs and having an experienced 3rd CB would be great.

If the stars align, this could be our best defensive lineup in a long time. Fingers crossed.

(Update on Malik Cunningham)

“He took the loss hard. I mean we all did, but he's doing good. He's in a much better place now. I think he’s going to be fine with his injury. He was out on the field on Sunday but didn’t do a whole lot. I’m pretty optimistic about him getting back out for tomorrow and Wednesday’s practice.”

I feel good about Syracuse's chance in this game. I think the defensive line should be able to contain Cunningham better than we did. The key to the game is continuously feeding the football to future 2022 Clemson Tiger Sean Tucker. I expect him to have a big game...

I feel good about us in general lately. And our performance against Malik Willis earlier this year makes me feel better too, because he’s better than Cunningham.

I think we got chewed up more so by the QB’s we weren’t expecting to take off on us.

I think we run the ball better than Clemson. Well, I know we do, by a significant margin (1st in the ACC vs. 11th) And statistically we’re better than anyone in the ACC by 10% solely by Team Rushing Yardage.

I’ve seen enough of a sample size, where I don’t believe it’s an illusion. We’re a good strong running team with an aggressive Defense. Both us and Louisville avg about 29 per game (29.4 (us) to 28.8). We’re giving up 22.6 and they’re giving up 27.4.

And the bye week came at the right time for us if for health reasons alone.

I just feel like our team is a group of fighters. And I think they’re going to do more of it this weekend. I also believe we’re good game planners, and we’ll have a strong game plan. In game decisions, sure, documented troubles. But if we come out ready to play and execute, couple early scoring drives, it’s on. Gotta put up 30+ though.
