Taurean Thompson

Dave, um, how to put this... you seem to post quite prolifically - often seeming to reply to your own posts... do you, um, perhaps need a hobby or something?

I rarely reply to my own posts. And I have only one profile. I'm not sure what your point is here. I love Orange basketball. I do have a hobby. I go fishing all the time. The problem I have is work is a big distraction from my two hobbies!

I really don't know any more. He took a credit recovery course that was not NCAA approved and has to retake it. That's all I have been told from academic tutors at SU.
The NCAA is waiting to rule on his eligibility. It all depends on which school he chooses. If he chooses SU, he will be ruled academically ineligible. If he chooses MSU, he's good to go.

Again, wondering why the National Collegiate Athletic Association feels qualified to pass judgement on HS courses but fake college courses aren't in their wheelhouse.

I didn't know they had a wheelhouse. I thought it was just a bunch bureaucrats hired through nepotism milking the system they had nothing to do with for all its worth.

Why does this seem to happen here more than anywhere else...

Is it me or is the delay of his decision scary...not because he'll choose elsewhere but because it does speak to the individual when they can't make up their mind on, to this point, is the biggest decision in their lives. Syracuse has been supposedly in the lead for the entire recruiting process yet he delays. We need him, but do we want him at this point? I for one will always keep this in the back of my mind even if he does arrive and plays well..thinking he may jump ship at any time.

It's already been mentioned that the holdup appears to be an academic issue concerning a class he took that the NCAA isn't recognizing, so he is trying to make it up...conjecture is that the school has asked him to wait to announce to ensure he is cleared...

Welcome back to page 65 (or whatever). Good lord man you are coming with this lame take that we all finally shouted down weeks ago.

If this is to be the case, can't he still commit while the issue is being corrected? Or, could the school be asking him not to announce until it is corrected on the off chance that its not? (Don't want Diagne situation again)
Our staff and the other schools involved still have no clue where he's headed. So he wouldn't be currently working anything out with any school specifically if there were academics to be corrected. Our staff expected this to be wrapped up in our favor a few weeks back until the MSU visit suddenly came along. So they would gladly accept his commitment at anytime.

Look here is the deal with this kid. Spent three years at St. Anthony's and one at Brewster Academy. Plus he spent a year away at a boarding school in the 8th grade. So he has spent most of his schooling at good academic institutions. Has a mother that is strict as hell, doesn't own a cell phone, and isn't on social media. All he has to focus on is school and ball. Would really be a strange and special case here if this kid was struggling to get cleared. Especially since mom spent most of her time during the last visit to SU, discussing the academic side of things.

They need Rakeem to give he and his mom a call.

TT The "Phantom Recruit" Is he real or is he strictly a figment of the Orange Nation collective consciousness? It seems he is a hologram... you can see him but there is no physical evidence of his actual existence. Conspicuously absent in this drama that we call the Tauren Thompson recruitment is any weighing in by Mantonio... surely a board denizen who is more slippery than snot on a doorknob would have some insight into the true nature of this enigmatic recruit. Mantonio... where are you?

And then again perhaps BRNCUSEFVRCUSE or "Bjorn" would likely sort this all out for us in a nanosecond. Who else but these former posters who seemingly disappear and then reappear from the veritable ether of the Syracusefan multiverse might be able to shed light on this conundrum which has baffled and bewildered even the best of us?

And so... we wait... pensively... to see if TT finally boards the Orange Express or if one of our prophetic board legends can somehow give us the scoop ( no put intended) of how this whole twisted and dramatic recruitment plays out it's final chapter.

Mantonio... where are you?

Actually, the woman Taurean's mom should talk to is Matt Moyer's mom, an educator who is very involved and concerned with her son's academic welfare. Annette Moyer could easily allay any concern about SU and academics or the coaching staff that Taurean's mom may have.

I thought it was BRNCUSETOTHEGROUNDFRVR or BERNIEFEVERCUSE...
