As I said in earlier comments would love us to use a top 25 TE in this offense, their is just no history of heavy use there. You are also right, a 6'6" TE has also never been moved to a Tackle. A number of Cuse fans took offense when it happened and it just goes to show there are lots of different perspectives when it comes to the process and the people who potentially could have been most offended simply used it as a wake up call to pick it up. That showed allot...again great pickup and congrats to the young man.
When you become a #1 target the coaches become concerned not offended.
I don’t think Dino has had his ideal TE so far in his time at Syracuse, but FYI, when he was at his first head coaching job at Eastern Illinois, he got Jeff LePak to follow him from Baylor. In 2013, playing for Dino, Jeff was an AA TE at Eastern. Had 51 catches for 723 yards receiving and 8 TDs. Jeff ended up becoming a GA for Dino at BG, then a QC coach at Syracuse before getting a full time coaching position at McNeese State in January.
Yeah I hear ya. Everyone was proclaiming Ravian was going to be that guy and then it just didn’t seem to materialize. It was my impression from the games that TE just wasn’t emphasized. If the guy is going to be receiving threat then that is great and again I wish him well here at Cuse.
