the nfl meathead analysts out there scoff at any offense that isn't sufficiently pro style as if there's not room in the world for different styles. everyone likes to talk about how he doesn't throw the ball on time. maybe there's something to be said for holding onto it "too long" when you get 30 yards

completion percentage isn't everything.

There are certainly a lot of dummies out there with a vendetta against him because they marked their line in the sand and once they do that nothing else matters.

But he's still a pretty fortunate QB. He led them to a 7-4 regular season record and in only 2 of those wins they had more than 17 points in regulation. Going to be hard to win a lot of NFL games by completing 10 passes, even if you have a great D and a great running game. You better have WRs who can turn 20 yard passes into 80 yard TDs with the stiff arm and speed like Thomas did today.

It's funny to watch Elway though, because I don't think Tebow frustrates anyone more than him.

Now theyre talking about how hard it is to defend the read option with the pass capability Tebow has after bashing him incessantly all week. Bottomline, Tebow is a beast but he is also a far way away from what he needs to be to become a "top" qb in the league. However, with his intangibles and his ability he is capable of having games like this. IMO, Tebow lost confidence for the first time maybe ever against B-Lo and played like crap against KC. Today just continued in his progression from the NE game where he actually played pretty well. They got blown out by the Pats because they self destructed, not because Tebow was bad.

He's a throwback, reminds me of early career Steve Grogan. Runs well, throws deep, and hits on barely 50% of his passes.

His receivers should get a lot more credit than they do.

But hey, it's fun to see a different style in the NFL.

You realize he fumbled twice in Pats territory that game. He self destructed. And the Pats will blow them out next week. Again.

Let's see how stupid Tebow's critics look in a week.

BTW, Tebow makes himself look stupid when he dresses for the post-game presser. What is that?

And Ben actually makes him look good by comparison. Hint: if you have a big fat neck and a big fat head, you might not want to wear a short-brim fedora unless you want to look like Oliver Hardy. It looks like his neck is about to launch that thing into space.

The only good-looking hats in that presser were on the coaches who were wearing them on the field.

Are you really making fun of how people look and dress? LOL

People hate on Tebow so much because of religion, which I do not understand at all. He gives thanks to God, and is one of the best role models this country has. So what what if he's not a prototypical NFL QB? He wins games and he doesn't: beat his girlfriend, shoot himself, get shot by his mistress, get DWI's, get arrested for drug or weapons like half the NFL seems to do.

yesterday was the first game I saw where he didn't suck for the vast majority of it. I guess that makes me a meathead.

Just liking your post isnt enough. You are dead on! Oh noooo, he gives glory to Jesus waaaahhhhh. We need our role models to be attention whores and criminals.

Maybe they will, but who knows, Denver looked good and you saw a different Tebow. The defense looked like they were back on track and Tebow threw for 316 yards, 2 TDs, 50 yds rushing and 1 rush TD against the #1 defense in the league.

In the New England game the Tebow fumble, the running back fumble and the punt return fumble all led to a double digit Patriot lead gong into the half and Denver could never recover. Denver imploded in that game, lets see if they can make a game of it when they dont (assuming hopefully they dont.)

just because the patriots will probably win doesn't make his most staunch critics right. they're already proven wrong. last game he'll ever start, brady quinn will come in, etc

I agree, every play or bad game doesn't make the guy's career, lets give him a season or two to see how Denver winds up. Right now, Denver is in teh final 8, that is pretty good. People need to chill on both sides with Tebow, he is limited in certain areas but great in others and he is a very likeable guy. I am not a man of the church but it really doesn't bother me eitherway but you can tell that Tebow is a solid stand up dude and it has nothing to do with, for me anyway with his faith. It's a non issue eitherway. He is also in his 2nd year as an NFL qb. People get all defensive on the issue, I just like watching the kid play, it can be furstrating at times, very exciting others. Chill...

I get it, he fumbled a few times, isn't that accurate, etc etc. The talking heads are so out of control with the Tebow

You can't tell how good a QB will be until he has been through the league a couple of times. DC's will adjust next season and if Tebow can deal with the adjustments, you will have to tip your hat to the guy.

Agreed. However I think after 14 games teams, especially the Steelers have had a chance to adjust. Its basically a numbers game. If you try to stop the big plays, Denver can run on you. If you load the box and stuff the run, Denver can throw on you, IF and only IF, Tebow keeps progressing as a passing QB.

Im so happy people are finally stopping with the stupid "Wildcat" comparisons. This offense is way more sustainable and multi-dimensional than the wildcat. The Steelers are the #1 defense in the NFL and are coached by a HOF legend and Denver showed when that offense is run correctly it is a beast to defend. The Steelers took away the run. Every friggin 1st down it was a run for 2 yards...over and over and over so good for the Steelers, they shut down the #1 rushing offense, BUT you leave yourself vulnerable to the pass and if Tebow can be even somewhat accurate throwing the ball they are going to be a hard team to stop.

That seems to be a pattern for this board.

Good for tebow. Impressive. The religious stuff is silly, though. Would never want my kids to have role model who was so overtly religious.

He will clearly be earning much more money off the field than he will on it. Good could probably sell branded tebow bibles. Or start one of those baptist churches.

He's tough, smart, physical, can run and has a strong arm.

It seems that accuracy - impacted by his motion - is the primary issue right now.

I have heard it said that accuracy cannot be coached up.

We shall see.

It's tough not to root for the guy. He makes the NFL a lot more fun.

I agree that there is absolutely no evidence to suggest the only offense that will work in the NFL is a pro style offense. I still am skeptical of Tebow long-term, however, b/c Denver would need to commit to a very different offensive style and I doubt they'll do that. I also am not sure that, even in that style, he can throw well enough to win.

One thing that is cool for Denver fans, though, is that they get to treat each completed pass like a touchdown. There was an audible roar anytime he completed a pass for more than 10 yards. That would be fun.

You have to take his results over the Steelers with a grain of salt. Nearly half of the Steeler's team was either out of the game or injured (and still playing). Tebow basically beat a mixture of the Steeler's second string and practice squad. I've never seen a team deal with so many injuries at a worse time than Pittsburgh had yesterday.

We all know there isn't a chance in hell that Tebow goes in and beats Brady and NE in Foxboro. Not gonna happen.

IMO, the Ravens are going to the Super Bowl from the AFC. Ravens/Packers should be a good game.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA yup ok because everyone in the NFL is healthy at this point of the year except the Steelers.

Sounds a lot like being an SU fan but I'm not sure you can call the sound that 20,000 people make a roar.

BTW, McGahee is banged up. Denver's best o-lineman broke his leg last week in Kuper. Dawkins, the leader of that defense is out. Starting receiver Eric Decker goes out beginning of the 2nd quarter. Von Miller has been a shell of himself since banging up his hand, played a little better yesterday.

The top two QB's in the league this year are both Christians. Rodgers and Brees. I don't hear anyone hating on them. Last I checked both were upstanding citizens and not whores or criminals. So clearly it is something other than just his faith that has people disliking him.

McGahee is banged up = Mendenhall tore his ACL last week? not really
Denver's best Olineman out probably equals Pouncy from Pittsburgh missing the game. But Pouncy was the center (and best Olinemen from the Steelers), so it's a bigger loss for Pittsburgh.
Dawkins out = Ryan Clark out, James Harrison hurt, Casey Hampton going out early in the game, Keisel hurt, Woodley hurt? not even close.

Oh yeah, I also forgot that Big Ben was playing on one leg. That probably didn't effect him either.

I know all about teams being "banged up" at this point in the season, but the Steelers definitely had more injuries than normal to deal with. Also, the injuries hit many of their best players. Hampton, Keisel and Harrison are the core up front for the Steelers - their loss (or reduction of ability due to injury) was significant.

They tear the league up...Tebow hasnt yet. If Tebow starts playing like he did yesterday alot of his haters will fade away. Also he is the most vocal Christian who says things like "My favorite moment today was when I got to hang out with a girl who has had 72 surgeries so far in her life before the game." I dont know why but some people hate that. People hated on A.C. Green too who was somewhat outspoken, especially about abstinence, I believe. Rodgers, Brees, Warner, Dwight Howard, Albert Pujols are all Christians who arent as outspoken so they dont get the hate Tebow does, they are also the best players in their sport.

ESPN's 24/7 coverage of Tebow also makes people hate him.
