That is why you go for it. Stupid

Serves him right. The better our players get, the more things stay the same.

That was unf'ing believable. I am gonna mail Marrone a set of those truck balls so he'l have a set.

I want a coach who can graduate college in less than a decade

Marrone is a terrible game day coach. Just terrible!

No way... Can't just go for it because there is a chance a reverse will go for 75 yards.
You go for it because it is fourth and two and you are down 12 on the forthquarter

Not if you think the odds greatly favor the defense coming up with a quick stop over getting the two yards.

The proof is in the pudding... Did they stop them? Did anyone really think they would stop them? When did we turn into Alabama?

It's not like we were shutting usc out

you go for it because your players see you don't believe in them, and/or that you dont think your good enough and/or have no balls and they lose respect for you, all resulting in the inevitable and sometime unconscious let down and you lose. Basically it says you're a loser. Game was winable to that point, a potential program turning win and he essentially gives in instead of throwing caution to the wind int this type game. ing pathetic.

Consider me officially off the Marrone bandwagon.

Proof? What was proven? Unless you are The Amazing Kreskin, and you publicly declared what exactly was going to happen following a punt, there is nothing to be proven.

I completely agree. This has been my one reason for not wanting to give an extension. He makes some really boneheaded gameday calls.

If shutting someone out is a pre-requisite to having faith in your defense, you'd see every team, pro and college, always go for it.

Faith. The same lack of faith in the team last year with 4th and inches to win the game vs rutgirls. Too many bad bad decisions on game day. The going for 2 in the 3rd qtr was ridiculous too. Did he think there would be no more scoring after that?

Wow, so either you are a mind reader, or I missed a much needed group hug by the offense after coach made them feel like losers.

Please, they are football players. They knew what Marrone would do in that situation. Same thing 95% of coaches would do in that situation. I promise you, no feelings were hurt, no respect (amongst players and coaches) was lost.

If you honestly believe that the odds of your defense making three good plays in a row are better than your offense getting two yards one time YOU SHOULDN'T EVEN PLAY THE GAME. JUST TAKE YOUR BALL AND GO THE HOME.

We moved the ball pretty much at will...if you want that program defining moment you have to go for it there and show some ing sack.

I like Marrone, but that play made me super happy that I am not soaking wet looking at a 5 hour drive now.

Ok, so if it is that black and white, please explain why teams don't alway go for it? Why do we even need punters in football?
