Uh oh, Purdue is going to get an upset Sean Tucker!
No worries though, I am sure their giant Big10 DL will take care of him, no problem.
I really do. He isnt as explosiveDoes anyone think there is validity to the theory that Sean is playing hurt since that hit in the Louisville game?
If Alford starts catching the deep balls, rather then dropping them, we have an answer for 8 in the box.I think it’s as easy as this:
Opponents would rather us try to beat them through the air. They’re keying in on Sean and Garrett whenever they run.
We have a new OC who has a brain. We’re 3-0 because we’re dynamic.
We’re now an offense where you have to gamble your gameplan to beat.
Sean may be lightly banged up but I think defenses are very much loading up on him.

The talent is there, but he needs to step up and be a difference maker.
Yeah, we need two guys that can be threats. Gadsden seems to be one. Now we need someone else to step up.If Alford starts catching the deep balls, rather then dropping them, we have an answer for 8 in the box.

I think everyone is too enamored with his height. He’s not a go up and grab it guy. He’s not physical enough. It took Custis 4 years to figure it out. I imagine Damien will be on that same trajectory. If Alford starts catching the deep balls, rather then dropping them, we have an answer for 8 in the box.

We need him to figure it out now, not in 2 years. Hopefully the new WR coach Johnson can get him up to speed.I think everyone is too enamored with his height. He’s not a go up and grab it guy. I think he’s just not strong enough yetWe need him to figure it out now, not in 2 years. Hopefully the new WR coach Johnson can get him up to speed.
I don't think it took Custis 4 years to figure it out. Some of that time he was injured. I think I remember a lot of talk during preseason of his junior year that he looked food, then he got hurt.I think everyone is too enamored with his height. He’s not a go up and grab it guy. People are saying he dropped a couple passes on Saturday - at least one of those the DB clearly made a nice play ripping the ball out of his hands. Yes, getting stronger would help that, but I wouldn't say he had the drops by any means.I think he’s just not strong enough yet
When I mean stronger I mean being able to out-physical the corners in bump-and-run coverage and learning how to create separation with his taller frame.People are saying he dropped a couple passes on Saturday - at least one of those the DB clearly made a nice play ripping the ball out of his hands. I think we just need more consistency from someone. We can't have guys not getting open when teams stack the box to stop Tucker. Of course we also need Shrader to hit the plays that are available. The Tucker miss was big. Gotta get that ball out there so he doesn't have to slow so much to wait for it.I think that both Courtney Jackson and DeVaughan Cooper in the slot have been pretty productive.
I also think that Isaiah Thomas was starting to "get it". I hope he's not out for long.
And don't forget, Tucker wasn't such an important target last year. He's pretty much our leading receiver.
If we keep spreading it around, I think we have enough guys, once we get Thomas back.
I really respect how the young man owns it. No excuses, no finger pointing. He has a work ethic and perspective that will serve him well in life.
