The all-inclusive Rutgers dumpster fire thread...

Ash at his weekly staff meeting - "gentlemen, let's turn to our weekly recruiting update"

Coach 1: "We lost a recruit"
Coach 2: "With regret, we lost another recruit"
Coach 3: "I went to Syracuse to firm up our relationship with a recruit, and as soon as my smartphone was off airplane mode after landing, I made sure to insult the kid's hometown".

This is seriously like a sitcom.

Coach 4: "We got a new commit! But he said 'for now' so we should win some games.
Ash: S$%^.

The Rutgirls optimist will point to the fact that NJ State did not accrue a loss this weekend. Progress! ... ;)

Stat of the day: BYE had no net rushing yards for the day!

Way to go Rutgers.

Meanwhile in the B1G, fans of the old-line schools are still questioning, "What's a Rutgers?"

Interesting sports news from the Big Apple. Yesterday, I happened to be in the Metropolitan area and heard the sports news on WCBS radio.

In college football they reported the Iowa State upset of Oklahoma. The only other score was Syracuse edging Pitt. Appears that SU is New York’s college team

I just think it's funny that a football program on probation for playing kids who should have been ineligible for failed drug tests has a coach named "Les Erb".

It's like they hired the guy to subliminally lobby the NCAA or remind their players how to act.

Please tell me he has a bother named "Morey".

You left me speechless with this observation......

I believe he had an uncle named Morrie. Nice guy but unconscionable ball breaker:

Rutty RB coach in town to see Stevie Scott.

Our RB coach promptly welcomes him with that sick burn.

Going out on a limb here, but I'm thinking that coach drives this:

From the can't make it up files, they actually have a thread going laughing at Michigan for losing last night.

That crow should taste good when Rutgers visits the Big House on 10/28.

Early indications? Mich -72

I'm going to derail this a little bit. What I don't understand is the love Vandy keeps getting. Before Alabama, there was talk about how they could end the losing streak, then they got smoked, Rutgers smoked. Then, the Florida game comes and prognosticators are spewing that Vandy's defense should be able to hold Florida in check and give them a good chance at the upset. they give up 38 points...to a Florida offense that has been woeful the last couple years. If that wasn't enough, along comes Georgia, and again, "they have good defense, this should be good, close game". They get hammered 45-14.

We lost by 9 to LSU (who just beat Florida) and 8 to NCST, both on the road, and I still hear how our defense is horrible, how we can't stop anyone and now it doesn't matter who plays QB for Clemson, we're going to get smoked. I wish these talking heads would do just a cursory amount of review before they start speakiing.

No one was making fun of Michigan for losing to Michigan State. The sentiment is more about how Michigan feels paying Harbaugh $9M per year to finish in third place in his own division, which is actually a pretty legitimate debate because it appears that's where they are heading for a third year in a row. The guy is getting paid to beat Michigan State and Ohio State and right now is 1-4 vs. those schools since he's been in Ann Arbor. So far all he's done that Brady Hoke didn't do was beat Rutgers which I think we'd all agree is no big feat lol.

As for the basketball decommit, the kid needs work defensively and will probably go somewhere he can play form day one. Pikiell went right to work replacing him and got a verbal from a JUCO power forward who is a legitimate B1G big, something they desperately need along with legitimate shooters. Still a long way to go but with Pikiell i think you can start to see some light at the end of the tunnel whereas football is a black hole for at least another 5-8 years.

over at the 'girls board this was spoken about the Oregon State firing....." Middle of his third year there. 7-23 record. He replaced Bielema at Wisc in 2013 before jumping to Oregon St. in 2015. Was head coach before that at Utah St.

"Proven" head coach aint always the answer either..."

I guess neither is Assistant coaches too.

Harbough's honeymoon is over now as he is 1-4 against M.State and OSU.

Chris Ash is 3-18(0-11)since joining Rutgers, losing B1G games by an average of 31 points. Which game would you guys consider to be his signature win thus far?

-Morgan State 65-0 (currently 0-5)
-Howard 52-14 (finished 2-10 in 2016)
-New Mexico 37-28 (finished 9-4 in the MWC)

I’d probably go with New Mexico because of their gaudy record and New Mexico Bowl win over UTSA last year, but you really can’t discount the shellacking they put on the glorified high school known as Morgan State.
