Fans don't buy subscriptions to read that their program is in tatters and had another disasterous recruiting class.

Some fan bases are more willing to pay to get their egos stroked with lies and misrepresentations.

Again, I am not a Rutgers fan and my only knowledge of how they are doing is when their recruiting crosses over to ours. They took flyers on a bunch of kids from NYS Syracuse looked at and passed on. As far as I can tell, their top recruit is a QB who wasn't good enough to start on his HS team and put up awful stats when he did play. That probably is not a good sign.

Based on what I know, I believe it is highly probable Rutgers did not do as well as Syracuse did, but if you want to judge classes based on the gulliblity of their fan bases, yes, I must grant you that Rutgers had another great class.

There is not a lot of propsects in NY as there is in NJ. The can get a few local kids from NJ just because of proximity. I like to compare our out of state commits with them. We routinely beat them on that. Schiano was pretty good at grabbing florida kids but they lost their connections when he left.

I respectfully disagree with most everything you say. You have not convinced me Rutgers had a better class than Syracuse did this year.

He actually has a point. Their recruiting till this year has been better. And, sugar coat it however you wish, 4-8 4-8.

That being said, this recruiting class is WAY better than what we have had for YEARS, and could be even better come February. Hopefully, improvements will translate into more wins on the field next season. Then, we can really dump on them!

Both teams were 4-8 this year and when you are ranked 40-46 (both schools have been moving up and down since Wednesday and I only reference 247s rankings because Rivals is a cesspool) it’s all subjective. The two classes are about on par with each other.
As to the sites, there are massive differences. Toad, as you like to call him and I’m my eyes it’s fitting, doesn’t know squat about recruiting. Rivals is, again, a cesspool and the premium isn’t any better. Sam Hellman has been running Scout, now 247, for years and he runs a tight ship. I don’t know about Rivals anymore but kids don’t get “bumped up” by committing to Rutgers at 247. If anything, they seem to drop when they commit. No one on 247 blinked when Sitkowski dropped, he was injured and only played 4 games this year. How could he not drop? Is that kid a 4*? Not from what I’ve seen but he has some skills and we’re happy to have him especially since he brought WR Jordan along from IMG.

So, since their recruiting has been much better than SU’s, their coaching must be abysmal as they’ve been mired in or near the basement of the Big 10.

If we played the same schedule as Rutgers since Dino took over, we'd be at least 6-6/7-5 in both those seasons. If Rutgers played our schedule over the past two seasons, they'd be 1-11/2-10.

Rutgers commits dont recieve bumps because of who they are. We all know that. lol. They get bumped because of the amount of subscribers they have. Ive had private conversations with rivals people who told me that. Ive seen several each year get bumps while SU commits dont. They actually get bumped down. Big part of that is because no one subscribes there and advocates for SU commits.
